2 The AIM of Scissor Licence: For the salon: Scissor License Reduces your time training apprentices and Identifies the time frame a commercial business needs to introduce the apprentice on the floor. Delivers an industry ready Stylist as soon as they are deemed qualified. Increase the income an apprentice can generate during their apprenticeship. Keeps your apprentice motived and inspired as we plan their progress. Creates flexibility within the salon roster when stylists are sick or on leave. Sets a measurable standard of skill within your salon You will be confident with the skill level of your entire team For the apprentice: Stylists will thoroughly understand the principles of precision cutting. The confusion will be removed and confidence will grow. Stylists will be able to start preparing themselves technically and mentally as they commence the process of building their clientele Apprentices will have a planned training pathway to follow through their career.

3 WHAT IS SCISSOR LICENCE? Scissor Licence is a combination of three workshops, a total of 7 days of intensive cutting education spread over approximately 12 months. Apprentice s must be enrolled in, or have completed Cert III in hairdressing at TAFE or college. BENEFITS: The benefits of enrolling in the Scissor Licence Program extend beyond the cutting workshops. Your Apprentice will be Industry ready when she is deemed qualified. As a stylist progresses through the cutting program our educators will be in contact to assist them with any problems they may experience via the Scissor Licence Private Facebook membership. They will also receive substantial discounts and support from our brand partners like Excellent Edges Scissors as well as Education rebates to other workshops presented by Elite Hair Education. If your Apprentice leaves you are credited with the balance of the program to use with any team member at any workshop. Excluding In-Salon Education. 4 Scissor License Education Program: Foundation Cutting (2 Days) After completion of the Foundation action plan this licence permits the stylist to commence basic haircuts on clients at the in-salon trainers discretion. Foundation Cutting teaches the Four Key Fundamental Haircuts Step by step: Solid Form, Graduation, Increase Layer, Uniform Layer Apprentices will also learn the following Personalising Techniques: Blunt Cut, Point Cut, Slicing, Chipping, Deep Point Cutting, Flicking, Texturising / Thinning How to breakdown a haircut from a picture Correct methods for using Scissors,Thinning Scissors & Razor The Correct body positioning & posture for confidence and comfort for Precision cutting. Bootcamp Cutting (3 Days) Bootcamp is designed to get Apprentices Cutting Hair. On the floor with a complete understanding of combination cutting, as well as the learning personalising and finishing techniques required In a commercial Salon. Even if they understand these basic haircuts many of them have not understood the concept of these skills, few have been taught the many techniques of combining these basic cuts to create a haircut that would be acceptable to their clients. After completion of the Bootcamp in-salon action plan this licence permits the stylist to the use of scissors and combination haircuts on clients at the in-salon trainers discretion Finishing School Cutting (2 Days) Each Stylist registered in this Workshop will have their individual needs addressed. While still conforming to commercial frameworks, There is a focus on freehand cutting of Wavy & Curly Hair, intricate Current Fashion Fringes, with complete direction of finishing & Personalising techniques. Stylists will build the confidence to cut any look your clients request and finish every haircut with seamless attention to detail. Every technique is presented in step-by-step detail. Developing inspiration from techniques that they can translate onto their salon clientele. After completion of Finishing School stylists receive their Scissor Licence, this licence permits the stylist to offer clients the latest commercial fashion with confidence.

6 FAQ s What is scissor licence? Scissor Licence is a Private Education Program that focuses on developing confidence understanding and High Level skills needed for Commercial Cutting. Do I have to be enrolled in cert III in Hairdressing? Apprentice s must be enrolled in, or have completed Cert III in hairdressing at TAFE or college. Just like high school your college provides the minimum standard, while Private Tutors raise the students skill level so that they can specialise in their field. What if the owner thinks an apprentice is not ready to go to the next workshop? If a student has completed the in-salon training program supplied at each stage they should be ready to move to the next workshop, if the owner decides they are not ready they can defer to a later date. What does a student have to do to progress to the next step? Each student will be given a Personalised in-salon action plan at the end of Foundation and Bootcamp. by completing this training the student will be ready to progress. They don t have to be perfect. How does the program work? A Salon or Student Purchases 7 days of education, Scissor License is set up as a program to follow over a 12 to 18 month period. How do I enrol? You can enrol online or buy contacting our head office enquiries@elitehaireducation.com Phone: Who owns the scissor kit the I receive when I registered? When you enrol, you will receive and scissor kit from Excellent edges valued at $290 this is included with the scissor licence program at no charge, the scissors belong to the person who pays for the program. What if my apprentice leaves and I am paying a plan? The Scissor Licence Program is 7 days of education. You can use the balance of the seven days education at any workshop you wish not included are In-salon Private education. Education days are fully transferable to any staff member. Any number of employees can attend any workshop provided we have don t exceed our class limit. When is the right time to start Scissor Licence? Typically an apprentice would start cutting at college or TAFE late first year. It isn t necessary to align this program with their college but the closer they are aligned the better the student will perform. What if the student is sick or can't attend? Each workshop will be presented in approximately 14 regions throughout NSW ACT QLD & VIC. your apprentice can attend any of these workshops alternatively the student can attend the next workshop in their region Does this make me a qualified hairdresser? In some cases colleges you can have your skills assessed and be given Recognition of Prior Learning. You must however gain your Cert iii through College or TAFE to be recognised as a qualified hairdresser. How do I make weekly payments? When you register for Scissor License you will pay a deposit (Min $283.50) Elite Hair Education will then setup a weekly payment schedule of $75 using your credit or debit card. Are there any hidden fees or charges? There are no bank fees, charges or admin fees for our Scissor License Program. Unless your Card Declines, their will be a $15 admin fee for each declined payment. How do I use my two $50 Vouchers? The vouchers can be used by any Scissor Licence student for workshops not in the Scissor Licence program or any stylist not registered in the scissor licence program for any E.H.E. Workshop.
