1 VICTORIA, TASMANIA, NSW, ACT & QLD FAIR WORK COMMISSION INCREASES MINIMUM AWARD RATES OF PAY & ALLOWANCES ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONIC & COMMUNICATIONS CONTRACTING AWARD 2010 s and allowances contained in this bulletin apply to award covered employees employed in NSW, ACT, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania In its Annual Wage Review decision handed down on 1 June 2018, the Fair Work Commission s Expert Panel increased award minimum rates of pay by 3.5 percent and appli ed a flat rate increase to some expense-related award allowances, effective from the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 July A revised wage schedule is attached. Please note that these adjusted rates of pay and allowances do not apply where you have in place an enterprise agreement that replaces the award. This wage rate bulletin contains a summary of the Award rates of pay and allowances as provided by the decisions of the Fair Work Commission. Therefore, apprentice rates of pay that are contained within enterprise agreements should be checked to determine whether the new award rates that apply to apprentices commencing apprenticeships on or after 1 January 2014 will be higher. Employers will be required to pay the higher of either the enterprise agreement or modern award rates that apply to apprentices. This will also be the same for adult apprentices.
