1 NNJ VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHT The Sparks Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Northern Nevada Juniors Volleyball Club (NNJ) to offer a lineup of fun camps, clinics and leagues for ages 3 to 16. NNJ s philosophy promotes commitment and teamwork, and encourages competitive, confident attitudes while maintaining high levels of sportsmanship, integrity and respect. NNJ works to make sure the discipline players learn on the court is also transferred into the classroom. The team of coaches strives to help each student reach her personal goals whether it s making a team or learning cooperative life skills for success off of the court. FALL LEAGUE This recreational youth volleyball league is designed to be fun for everyone. Players will learn the skills of passing, setting, serving, and hitting using technical skill progressions. Each team will compete twice an evening and a championship will be played at the conclusion of the league. 2 INSTRUCTOR HIGHLIGHT GARRY HILL-THOMAS Garry Hill-Thomas is a former University of Nevada Wolf Pack standout, honored as Nevada s Senior Male Athlete of the Year in After his career at Nevada, Hill-Thomas played for NBA-D League teams including the Reno Bighorns. He also played professionally and is a seasoned basketball coach. Hill-Thomas strives to provide basketball camps and programs for all abilities of players to learn and improve their basketball skills and apply them to actual game situations - all in a fun, safe and competitive environment. His GHT camps also focus on the character and values needed to achieve goals in both sports and life.
