WHFs and their families may also drive to Mt. Vernon, if they wish. If driving, plan to arrive by 10 a.m. Park in the Visitor Lot and take the pedestrian walkway to the Library. It is on the opposite side of the traffic circle from the entrance to the Mt. Vernon grounds. We will have signage and people to guide you when you arrive. 10:00 Arrival & Introductions Greetings from the Mount Vernon Staff 10:15 Discussion of the Political Leadership of George Washington Starting with his time in the Virginia House of Burgesses through one of America s most successful presidencies, Washington developed and honed the tools to be both politically savvy and a master of executing sound strategy.
