Good Luck at State. Students of the Month Michael Garvert, Bre Mesecher, and Nolan Jones. Plainville High School Art Students By Jill Wells Twenty three Art students attended the 44 th high school art day at Fort Hays State University. The event hosted 962 students from 62 schools this year. The students displayed their art that was judged, toured the FHSU Art and Design Department, and viewed artwork by FHSU students. Student artists with exemplary work took home certificates. Plainville students earned a total of 27 certificates for a variety of artworks including handmade art books, ceramics, drawings, and paintings of various mediums. The following young artists won awards: Conner Sowles, Grace Werner, Bailey Werner, Bethany Schindler, Dalton Ganoung, Kayla Garvert, Alena Dinkel, Taylor Stahl, Rebecca Bebb, Alyssa Sowles, Jessie Gilmore, Brooke Werner, Jacey Dopita, Aiden Jones, Heidi Jones, Macie LeMarr, Bre Mesecher, and Paige Sherraden. 3 PLAINVILLE HIGH SCHOOL JOB OLYMPICS By Emily Miller The Job Olympics is an event that takes place every year in Phillipsburg. It is for special education students in the North Central Kansas area. Work simulation stations are set up to test students in work skills; the students are judged on skill level, performance and time. Students prepare by practicing at school before the event. Students can earn medals/ribbons, certificates, and plaques for first, second and third place. The students that attended this year were Wes Higdon, Nolan Sinclair, and Hope Smith. Plainville received first place, based upon the team s average number of points per team member. Congratulations, great job! Hope Smith Nolan Sinclair Wes Higdon

To apply pick up an application at the District Office 203 SE Cardinal Ave Plainville or dchew@plainville270.net for more information call Prom 2018 Plainville High School The National Honor Society of Lincoln High School would like to thank you for your very generous contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during our fundraising event during the 2017 Morris-Stephens Tournament. We very recently received this pennant and have decided to pass it on to you, as Plainville High School donated the most money during our fundraising event. With your help and the help of the other schools involved, we were able to raise $535. In keeping with our pledge, the NHS Chapter of Lincoln High School donated an additional $100 to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Plainville s school name. Again, thank you for your generous contributions. We would not have been as successful in our fundraising efforts without your help. Prom Queen Hunter Meyers Prom King Dalton Benedick National FCCLA Three FCCLA students have qualified for National FCCLA Star Events, the students are Jayde Hoiser, Jersey Kaiser, and Ashley Wise for Entrepreneurship and Jamie Morain in Career Investigation. National FCCLA is in Atlanta Georgia on June 28-July 2. They will participate in the National Conference ceremonies and attend workshops. They will also attend a Braves/Red pro baseball game, go to the Aquarium, Atlanta city tour, Six Flags, and FCCLA Music Festival and Laser Show. They will be fundraising for this trip. Congratulations, the school district is proud of you.
