The Scottsburg High School Chorus and Band will provide additional music for the evening. Opening remarks will be delivered by Class President Lauren Howser. Class Treasurer Kevin Jentzen will provide closing remarks. Class Vice President Hyeree Ellis and Class Secretary Hyejee Ellis will lead the Class of 2014 in the tassel and ring turn. Diplomas will be distributed by Principal Ric Manns. Sponsors for the Class of 2014 are Mrs. Debbie Horine and Mrs. Shawna Slaton. Limited parking is available on the high school campus. Shuttle buses will be provided to transport people from the First Christian Church Shelter House (The Rock) to McClain Hall for the commencement program every fifteen minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The buses will return people to their cars following graduation. SHS Graduation Info The 117th Annual Commencement Program at Scottsburg High School is scheduled for Friday, June 13th. The program will be held in McClain Hall and will begin at 7:00 p.m. No tickets are required and seating is on a first come, first served basis. MACBOOK COLLECTION Student MacBooks will be collected Thursday, June 5th Please make sure you have your laptop, bag and charger ready to go. Back up any essential files to the cloud or flash drive.

2 SHS Vocational Awards On Tuesday, May 20 Business, Agriculture, Prosser, and Family and Consumer Science honored students that had maintained at least a 3.0 average and had completed a number of credits in the department. In Agriculture students must have completed 5 credits for a silver medal and 7 credits for gold. In Business students must have completed 5 credits for silver and 8 credits for gold. In Prosser students must have completed 6 credits for silver and 12 credits for gold. In Family and Consumer Science students must have completed 4 credits for silver and 5 credits for gold. 3 New Football Coach I am thrilled and extremely blessed to be the new head football coach at Scottsburg High School. This is a tremendous opportunity at an exceptional school within a great community. I am excited for the once in a lifetime chance to establish a successful football program at a school with a storied academic and athletic tradition. I am equally passionate about my future teaching responsibilities in Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing and the ability to positively impact economic growth in Scott County through the development of a skilled workforce. As the head football coach at Scottsburg High School, my main objective will be to mold young men into exceptional students, husbands, fathers, and value-adding citizens of their community. I am motivated to meet our student-athletes and invest in their lives as a father-figure, leader, and mentor. Building a successful football program at Scottsburg High School will require a communitywide commitment to our young men that will be rewarded beyond measure. Our players will soon understand that winning is a by-product of doing the right thing all of the time on and off the field. I want to personally thank the Scottsburg Community, SCSD2 School Board, and the Administrative Team who have supported the new football program and placed their confidence in my ability to lead the Scottsburg Football Program. My family and I look forward to becoming part of the Scottsburg Community and WARRIOR NATION. Warrior Warehouse The Warrior Warehouse food pantry is open for the last time this school year tonight from 3:30 to 5:30. Summer food information for 18 and under: The Scott County Summer Food Service Program is expanding This year, kids can receive a free, nutritious lunch at any of the several sites located throughout the county. Lunches will be served in Austin at The Hickory Lakes Mobile Village from 12:00 to 12:30 and at Austin Community Park from 12:40-1:00. In Scottsburg, lunches will be served at Beechwood Park, World Outreach Church, and the YMCA. Meals will be served from 12:00-12:30 at all three locations. A free lunch will also be provided to children in Lexington and Vienna. A bus will park at the Lexington Town Square from 1:00-1:30. Vienna Baptist Church is running a free, all-day summer program, for children K-12 and will also serve lunch at 12:00. Program runs Monday-Friday during the summer, except the 4th of July. Austin Sites begin June 2 and Scottsburg/Vienna/Lexington begin June 9. Please help us spread the word to families in our county. 4 Staff Honored SHS recognized it 2014 retirees at both our faculty meeting on Wednesday and at the SCSD2 Retirement Banquet last night. We have been very fortunate to have these talented and dedicated individuals as part of our staff for so long. We wish them all the best as they begin planning for their very well deserved retirement years. Broccoli Indiana State Police Career Camps give high school students an in-depth look at law Fri - Grilled Cheese enforcement. They will be held at Vincennes Tomato Soup University on July and Trine University on July The Scottsburg Kiwanis club is offering scholarships to local teens to attend the camps.
