3 KINDERGARTEN OPEN HOUSES During the next two months, RCES will hold monthly Kindergarten Open Houses for parents who will be sending (or are considering sending) their children to Kindergarten at RCES next fall. Below are dates for each month, in addition to our Kindergarten Orientation dates in May. Mr. Chep will meet with prospective kindergarten parents to discuss our programs and answer questions, and parents will have an opportunity to visit our kindergarten classes. Please inform your neighbors whose children will attend kindergarten during the school year (turning five years old by September 1, 2017). It is essential we know early how many children will attend kindergarten to ensure appropriate staffing, and to keep our class sizes down. These meetings are not for children. Parents and children will attend our May Kindergarten Orientation. SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR NEIGHBORS!!! Kindergarten Open House Schedule February 17 9:15 a.m. March 10 9:15 a.m. May Kindergarten Orientation - May 15, 16, & 17 (appointments are scheduled) HOPPING HERON AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB REGISTRATION SESSION III Our Hopping Heron Session III Club brochure will be available on our school web site on January 30, Browse through the brochure to see the after-school offerings. Registration is electronic, so click the Online Registration link to register for a club. Read the brochure carefully to make sure you register before the cut-off date, February 6 at 4:00 p.m. SECOND MARKING PERIOD ENDS The second marking period ends on Thursday, January 26. Students do not attend school on Friday, January 27. This day is designated as a Professional Day for teachers to complete student report cards. Report card distribution is scheduled for Wednesday, February 8. LAKELANDS PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL (LPMS) September 2017 may be months away, but planning for our fifth grade students transition to Lakelands Park Middle School begins now. On January 24, a parent information meeting will be held at LPMS. This is an opportunity for parents of fifth grade students to ask questions and meet members of the LPMS staff. Representatives from the LPMS staff will also visit our school to speak to our fifth graders on February 8. SCIENCE AND INVENTION NIGHT Join us on Wednesday, January 25, from 7:00 8:30 p.m., in our APR/Gym, for our annual Science and Invention Night. Who knows, maybe we ll have an invention so creative or useful or ingenious, the Shark Tank will come looking for the creator! We cannot wait to see what the kids come up with this year! Come and check out all of the students inventions and projects.
