All are welcome! Flyer is required. click here to VISIT THE SCHOOL'S WEBSITE! A note from our PTSA President There's a lot of excitement in Baltimore with the Ravens poised for a possible Super Bowl win this weekend. Go Ravens! With the 2 nd marking period coming to a close last week, we are at the half-way point in our school year. Hope things are going well for you! I'd like to extend a huge thank you to Hospitality Chair Joan McKinley along with Tamara Anderson, Thea Mussman, Holly Voelker, Joanne Bahl, Katie Lancaster, and Denni Arrup who arrived at LRHS VERY EARLY on January 28 th for the annual Staff Appreciation Breakfast. 2 gift cards and breakfast items! In addition, some area businesses went all out to donate to this event: Towson Hot Bagels and Toscana Deli, Market & Catering! Please thank these restaurants the next time you visit them. It was a fantastic way to express thanks for everything our hardworking staff does for our kids. With 2013/2014 registration for classes happening this month...if your student is considering registering for A.P. classes next year and you have questions, please contact your student's counselor to ask if the class is right for your student. Previous PSAT and SAT scores alone do not indicate if a child is capable of taking two or more A.P. classes. From one parent to another, time commitment and study habits matter. Be informed! Would you like to be more involved in your child's high school experience? Join us at our next PTSA meeting on February 19 th in the Faculty Dining Room off the cafeteria. After serving as PTSA president at the elementary, middle, and high school level, I will be leaving this June as the parent of a senior. In fact, many of our board members are the parents of seniors and will soon be leaving. You are needed! Have a Happy Valentine's Day! Julie Sugar LRHS PTSA President lrhsptsapresident@gmail.com ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB We invite your family to join the Loch Raven High School Athletic Booster Club. From concession stands to scoreboards, uniforms and the Sports Award Ceremonies, the Booster commitment has been there for all student athletes and their families. We are proud of our past and need you in our future. Join the LRHS-ABC. It's easy, inexpensive, and prideful. If your child plays a sport at Loch Raven, you should be a member of the Booster Club. Loch Raven Athletic Department Season Passes New this year the LR Athletic Department is offering a huge incentive to families of athletes. As many of you know Baltimore County has an admission policy of $5 adults and $3 for students to all games held in a stadium and for most gym Winter Sports Awards Ceremony Save the date! Details will follow in next month's e-news. Do you have photos of LRHS winter sports
5 contests. If a family of four was to go to a game they'd likely be paying $16 per event. We've introduced the season pass program where Booster Club members can purchase seasonal or yearly discount cards. The season pass is $40 dollars and you will receive 4 cards. These cards will have the cardholder's name on it and when you enter, a number will be punched indicating that you've paid for that day. If you were to go to at least 3 games in a season this card would more than pay for itself. If you have an athlete that plays soccer, basketball and lacrosse you might be interested in the yearly pass, which for $75 dollars also gives you four cards but it's good for 36 contests. If a family of four was to go to all of these contests they would be spending over $350 dollars using the single game admission fee. If you're interested please make sure you're a Booster Club member (form included above), then Mike McEwan at mmcewan@bcps.org to purchase a discount card. Thanks for supporting LR Athletics.
