The City of Horace website has new functionality which supports immediate notification of important updates. The Notify Me feature allows you to get immediate notifications for: City Alerts Critical infrastructure alerts that impact residents. 6 Fusion 16 U Softball team Champions Over a hot summer weekend in July the Fusion 16U softball team took home a hard fought state Championship. Congratulations to the girls and coaches for all their hard work this year! Horace Boy Scout Troop 274 travels to Spring Survivor Camp Horace Boy Scouts trekked to Heart Butte for spring Survivor Camp this June. Sessions were held to teach the scouts about water purification, fire building, archery, rifle shooting, first aid, fishing and service. At the end of the day on Sat- urday the scouts competed to see who could outwit, outplay and outlast the other teams. Scouts followed waypoints to a series of challenges that required them to put their knowledge from the day to use. While Troop Williston crossed the finish line first, Troop 274 was not too far behind. The survivor themed camp was a favorite of many scouts. 6

11 Yard Waste Collection Clean UP Reminders : Yard waste is accepted in the city dumpster by the lagoon gate. Bundle and tie brush up to 4-foot lengths. Branches larger than 4" in diameter or longer than 4' are not accepted. DO NOT deposit tree logs or stumps in the dumpster. DO NOT place dirt or concrete chunks, rocks, or bricks in the dumpster. This is for organic yard material only. DO NOT place yard waste on the ground around the dumpster or in front of the gate. This requires extra effort to clean up. The dumpsters are NOT for resident trash. Do not place anything other than yard waste in these receptacles. Questions can be directed to NOTE: The burn barrels that were located near the lagoon are no longer available. Too much trash was being disposed in the barrels that required additional clean-up. The city is working on an alternative solution to processing yard waste including composting and chipping branches and wood. The city welcomes feedback regarding yard waste processing that can benefit the city instead of sending material to the landfill.
