3 A Note from the Athletic Director Welcome to Rehoboth Christian School. Thank you for supporting our teams and athletes. We appreciate your attendance and encouragement at our fall sporting events. I am entering my fourth year as the athletic director and sixth year at Rehoboth Christian School. I have enjoyed serving God, the students, and school in many different ways. Through the past four years I have realized how important athletics can be when it is done the right way in a Christian school. I don t believe our school, teachers, coaches, administration, students, or parents are perfect, but I do believe we are making strides towards doing athletics the right way. I have observed athletes memorizing scripture, teams doing devotions, teams taking part in Bible studies, teams praying before and after games, teams praying with opponents hand in hand, coaches positively communicating with rival coaches, athletes growing in their faith, and athletes showing sportsmanship in difficult times. I believe athletes at Rehoboth Christian are in a great place. I ask that you as family, students, fans, and community members help to make the athletic environment at Rehoboth Christian School positive and one that serves God. Cheer for your team; not against the other team. Congratulate athletes on their performance; don t put them or others down. Be positive in all situations; eliminate negative talk about opponents, coaches, or players. Do your part to make athletics at Rehoboth Christian School done the right way. I welcome further discussion about how we can improve centering athletics at Rehoboth Christian School around serving God. If there is a way we can make your visit to Rehoboth Christian better in any way, please don t hesitate to talk with me. Go Lynx! Dr. Jeff Engbers Athletic Director jengbers@rcsnm.org 3
