The state House of Representatives passed its version of the bill last session. The Senate s version was passed by the Committee on Professional Licensure but was not acted upon by the full Senate. As drafted last session, the legislation requires an MSW or higher degree for a regular license, and a BSW degree, enrollment in an accredited graduate social work program, and three years supervised experience for a provisional license. it requires an examination and contains a two.year grandfather clause. The Pennsylvania Chapter is encouraged by the bill s passage in the House last year and by indications that the chairman of the Senate licensure committee will support it, said Janice Lehr, acting chapter executive director.
