ARTICLE VIII. Meetings Section 2. Official Call. A. The official call and delegate cards shall be mailed or electronically sent to the voting body at least forty-five days prior to the convention. B. The call to the annual convention, giving the time and place of the convention, shall be published in The Kentucky Clubwoman which shall be mailed or electronically sent at least thirty days prior to the convention. ARTICLE XVIII. Amendment Section 2. Proposed amendments shall be printed in The Kentucky Clubwoman which shall be mailed or electronically sent to GFWC Kentucky members thirty days prior to the convention. Page 1

Dear Clubwomen, The GENERAL FEDERATION OF WOMEN S CLUBS KENTUCKY are hereby called to the One Hundred and Twentieth Annual Convention to be held April 23 rd thru April 25 th, 2015 at the Capital Plaza Hotel, in Frankfort, Kentucky. We, the members of GFWC Kentucky, will be hosting our GFWC International Treasurer, Mrs. Suellen Brazil, during our convention. It is an honor to have her visit our state and I know each of you will enjoy meeting her. Committee meetings will begin at 12:00 p.m on Thursday. Please see the tentative agenda for the times and locations within the hotel. If you are unable to attend your respective meeting please be sure to let the facilitator know in advance. Any material handouts will be available to you upon request. The Pre-Convention Board of Directors Dinner meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening, April 23 rd beginning at 6:00 p.m. This meeting and meal function is open to all members who wish to attend. GFWC KENTUCKY Bylaws ARTICLE IX. Board of Directors Section 1. Compositions. A. The Board of Directors shall be composed of: 1. Executive Committee; 2. District Governors and Vice-Governors, District Director of Junior Clubs; 3. GFWC KENTUCKY Director-elect of Junior Clubs; 4. chairmen of GFWC KENTUCKY Standing & Special Committees; 5. members of the Budget and Finance Committee; 6. chairmen of Community Service Programs (General & Junior); 7. chairmen of the Advancement Areas (General & Junior); 8. chairman of the Headquarters Committee 9. appointed chairmen (General & Junior); 10. GFWC/GFWC KENTUCKY per capita dues paying, Honorary Presidents; 11. Parliamentarian if a GFWC/GFWC KENTUCKY member. B. The Parliamentarian may attend Board of Directors meetings in an advisory capacity. The GFWC KENTUCKY Convention is meant to be a learning experience, as well as a time to honor clubs for their hard work and accomplishments. Remember, convention is all about YOU!! Silent Auction items may be left at the Registration Table, starting Thursday, April 23 rd and can also be checked in Friday morning, April 24 th. 9 Good morning GFWC Kentucky! What a wonderful spring this will be filled with amazing, fun-filled state conventions from one end of the country to the other. I hope everyone is planning to attend your state convention and will be a part of the celebration of your accomplishments! The 50 State conventions will lead right into our trip to Memphis, TN for our 125th GFWC Anniversary Celebration Convention. Look for the CALL to Convention in our March/April issue of the GFWC Clubwoman. I hope each of you are thinking seriously about joining us for this fun filled event. While I won t be with you in Frankfort this year, I know you will enjoy your time with Suellen Brazil. She is a valued member of the Executive Committee, not only for her expertise as our GFWC Treasurer, but also for her fun spirit and the abundance of enthusiasm she brings with her. State conventions add a renewed sense of belonging and a spark of excitement to GFWC and I hope you will be joining all your GFWC Sisters this spring as we do the Happy Dance all across the country celebrating your accomplishments. 10 GFWC KENTUCKY - CONVENTION INFORMATION ARTS & CRAFTS and PHOTOGRAPHY CONTESTS: This year, all entries may be checked in during the registration times on Thursday, April 23 th and Friday, April 24 th, as well as in the Kentucky Room 1 & 2 on Friday between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m. There will be an area for the Arts & Crafts and Photography, near the Convention Registration area. As you register for Convention, you will be able to register the Arts & Crafts and the Photography. Judging will take place on Friday, April 24 th and the Arts & Crafts and Photography awards will be announced on Friday, April 24 th, during the afternoon General Session. Arts & Crafts and Photography items must be checked out on Friday, between 5:00 and 5:45 p.m. * Entries are entered at the owner s risk. GFWC KENTUCKY and the Capital Plaza Hotel cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. All winners will be published in Kentucky Clubwoman. The convention committee requests all articles remain on display until after the close of the exhibit at 4:45 on Friday, April 24 th. All contest entries must be picked up between 5:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Friday. BLING Back by popular demand it s time for BLING!!!! Please bring jewelry items that you no longer have a need for and donate them to the BLING table. These jewelry items will be displayed and offered for resale during the convention. 13 LEADS SEMINAR GFWC KENTUCKY 2015 April 23, 3:00-5:30 pm Leadership trainings create opportunities for attendees to learn important information as well as skills to empower them to advance in their level of leadership. These trainings can carry a heavy price because of the value of the time and expertise of the presenters. Our GFWC KY is providing a 2 ½ hour training at NO additional cost to you, a state club woman. The presenters are presenting to nurture the leader within those attending. They wish to educate, encourage and inspire fellow state women to embrace higher levels of leadership in our communities so that women will be truly wellrepresented in the decision-making and the molding of our nation s, state s, and local community s future. Please take advantage of this chance to broaden your leadership toolbox. The workshop will offer team building, information about GFWC and GFWC KY, information about leadership and management, about Leadership Kentucky, and a panel discussion at the end with a state senator, state representative and our Supreme Court Clerk. Please indicate how many club members can attend from your club, and come prepared to learn! The club with the most attendees will be presented with a certificate and a leadership token prize! MARKETPLACE The Marketplace will be open for business, and located in the Seminar Room. If you need any GFWC KENTUCKY logo merchandise, please visit the Seminar Room. MEALS GFWC KENTUCKY is required by hotel management to contract in advance for all meals. Meal cancellations and refunds will not be honored by GFWC KENTUCKY after April 2nd. Please complete the pre-registration form and return it, with your signed delegate cards, to the Registration Chairman. Pick a theme, get the items together and place them in a box, seal the box and put a one word clue describing "what's in the box" on the outside of the box. Believe me this is fun!! GFWC KY Third District did this at their Fall Conference. Also, there will be an opportunity to win a GFWC KENTUCKY Vest, guess how many keys are in the jar and BLING is back too!! For BLING, clean out your jewelry boxes of the jewelry you haven't worn in a year or so. Who knows.there might be a prize for the GFWC KY club woman that brings the most pieces. Each club is requested to bring a Basket. All Theme Baskets can be turned in at registration starting on Thursday, April 23 rd. The items will be on display for you to bid on during Friday and until 12:00 noon Saturday. The HIGHEST BIDDERS will be announced Saturday afternoon before adjournment.
