CHRISTIANA FFA Christiana High School Chapter of the FFA Club for students in Agriscience Courses Nationwide organization largest student organization Limited in membership Provides an opportunity for Travel, Competition, and Education Information on Christiana High Schools Agriscience Club The Agriculture Education Program The Purpose of FFA Composed of three parts Classroom/Lab where you will read about, write about, and study a topic as you do in most classes but also learn about a topic through hands on experiences and applications. FFA Nations largest students organization designed to support and apply what is learned in the classroom SAE Projects that you work on outside of the classroom that support what you are learning. The purpose of FFA is to develop: Leadership Scholarship Improved Agriculture Cooperation Character Recreation Patriotism Service Citizenship Thrift The FFA Stresses three closely related subject area: Leadership, Personal Growth, and Career Success. 1
2 Mission Statement Go Beyond the Mission FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education. What can you do? Lead Travel Earn Money Be part of a team/family Serve the community Succeed Have fun Lead Travel Student Run Organization CHS elected officers, committee members, and students Any public school with an agriculture education program Made up of advisors, officer team, chapter advisory committee, and school administration. Travel with judging teams All first place teams represent Delaware at National Convention in Indianapolis, IN. All second place teams represent Delaware at the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, MA. Field Trips FFA members are offered all agriscience field trips before nonmembers. Philly Flower Show, National Zoo, Baltimore Aquarium, Longwood Gardens, Franklin Institute 2

4 Earn Money Scholarships More than 2 million dollars are awarded to students through scholarships each year though the scholarships offered to FFA Students. Exhibits in the Fair CDE Teams Be part of a team/family Serve the Community Largest student organization in the school! A successful FFA Chapter is all about teamwork in the classroom and outside. FFA has over 100 team and individual events and competitions. More than 500,000 FFA members nation wide. FFA defines success - continuously demonstrating those qualities and skills necessary to succeed in, or to further prepare for a chosen profession while effectively contributing to society. There are over 300 careers available in the agriculture field The nation s number 1 employer. Numerous former students and FFA members that have gone on to great things. Christiana FFA provides numerous opportunities to have fun.
