Friday, September 9 Hawaiian Luau Party Wear your favorite Hawaiian, tropical, or luau gear as we bring summer to a close and celebrate a fun-filled, colorful Wildcat victory. LHS is on Twitter follow Reminder - Requirements to park on campus 1. Complete Complete Drug Testing consent forms. 3. Purchase Parking Tag. All three of these requirements must be completed prior to parking on campus. There will be a meeting after school for girls trying out for basketball this season on Monday, September 26 in the new gym.
2 BASS / Fishing Club The LHS BASS FISHING CLUB will hold our first meeting on Thursday, September 22 at 6 p.m. in the Little Theater to go over the club requirements and an overview of the league rules. It is important that parents attend as well especially if your parent is allowing you to use their boat or will be the captain/supervisor" of your two person fishing team. This meeting is still open to anyone interested in joining the team/club. Juniors and Seniors Do you have a demonstrated interest in public service? How about an understanding of America's political processes? If so, you may want to compete for one of two $10,000 scholarships and attend the 2017 United States Senate Youth Program in Washington, DC. Drop by the Counseling Department to pick up a pre-application. Pre-applications are due on Wednesday, September 14. Football Ticket Sales Students Football tickets will be on sale on home game Friday's beginning at 10:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the cafeteria in front of the stage. Tickets will $5 at lunch and $6 at the gate. Parents/Fans Tickets will be on sale on home game Friday's from 8 a.m. 3 p.m. in the main office for $5 and $6 at the gate. English IV students, see Mrs. Augsburger E203 to get job shadowing ideas and forms. Deadline is Monday, OCTOBER 10. Jostens will be on campus Thursday, September 15 from 9:30 a.m. 3 p.m. meeting with Seniors to order their graduation supplies and again on Friday, September 16 from 9:30 a.m. 3 p.m. to meet with Juniors who would like to order a ring for the Class of A deposit of $60 is required for Seniors and a deposit of $50 is required for Juniors when placing the orders. 5 Pre-ACT and PSAT/NMSQT Test Information The state of South Carolina is offering the Pre-ACT test to all 10th grade students for FREE. The Pre-ACT will be administered at school on Wednesday, September 21, The test will take approximately two hours and 15 minutes. If you have any questions regarding the Pre-ACT, please call Ms. Burgess at In addition to the state providing a free opportunity for your student to take the Pre-ACT, our school will also offer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) test to all 10th grade students for $15. Please see Mr. McCormack in the Main Office to sign up for the PSAT. Any 11 th grader that wants to try and qualify for the National Merit Scholarship should sign up. Important: If you student has an IEP or 504 and requires accommodations for PSAT testing, your student must sign up by Friday, August 26 so that school personnel have enough time to assist you in applying for these accommodations through the College Board. If you have any questions regarding the PSAT, please call Mr. McCormack at Seniors College Application Day 2016 Seniors College Application Day (CAD) 2016 is coming Tuesday, September 20! It will be held in the computer lab in the Learning Commons and you will have an hour to work on college applications. There are two big bonuses to doing this there will be college representatives here to help you and many of our in-state colleges waive the application fee for CAD. That means you can apply for FREE! Come to the Counseling Office to pick up an instruction booklet and sign up for a time 9 a.m., 10 a.m., or 11 a.m. Seats are limited so come sign up now!
