2 Fall Parent Meeting Minutes September 7, 2011 Board members present: Katrina Nolan, Donna Bowen, Kim Dellacort, Alice Liu, Gary King, Martha Alvidrez, Heather Hickman, Mark Chulack, Brenda Ruckstuhl, Sheila Mooney, Jeanette Tudor Chuck, Peg O Connor-Tressel, Andrea Moxley Meeting at Redwood Middle School Cafeteria at 7:30 PM. Meeting started at 7:30 PM. New Member Orientation Katrina Nolan welcomed new band parents to the Redwood Viking Band Booster and introduced the Viking Band Program to them. Heather Hickman described the uniforms and alternate wear to the new band parents. All Parent Meeting Katrina welcomed all parents to the Fall Parent Meeting. Mr. Payne has a family emergency and could not attend the meeting tonight. Katrina introduced members of the Board. Janine Delwarte presented the Redwood Jazz Band program. Jazz Band will be held on Thursdays after school starting October 6 th. Return forms to Mr. Payne to enroll. Approval of Spring Parent Meeting minutes Katrina presented the minutes from the Spring Parent Meeting. Donna Bowen made a motion to approve the Spring Parent Meeting minutes. The minutes were approved as presented. Budget Redwood Middle School Band Booster Club Budget 2011/2012 totals from line 16 (revenues) and line 43 (expenses) are not equal. Kim Dellacort explained that both should be $26,210 from line 43. Gary King made a motion to amend line 16 of the budget to $26,210. The motion to amend the budget is accepted. Gary King made a motion to approve the proposed budget as amended. There was no further discussion from the floor and the members accepted the amended budget. Amended budget is attached. 1
3 Auditor s report Peg O Connor-Tressel presented the End of Year Audit of Financial Records of the Redwood Band Booster Club. All financial transactions of the Redwood Band Boosters (July 1, December 31, 2010) were found to be complete and accurate. Ways & Means (Gary King) Fair Share Donation can be tax deductable if checks or credit card payments are made to Conejo Schools Foundation. Please see if company matching is available from your place of work. Our first restaurant fundraiser will be held at Topper s Pizza Place on September 20, Other fundraisers are cookie dough sales, escrip, printer/toner cartridge, cell phone recycling. Volunteers (Mark Chulack) Family Registration Form lists volunteer opportunities that are available. Uniform Fitting will begin September 19. Volunteers are needed for this upcoming event. Chairs for Grant, Matching Funds, Festival, Color Guard Liaison, Spring Trip, and Bake Sales are still open. Volunteers should contact Mark Chulack at chulack3@aol.com. Membership Donna Bowen is in charge of RedwoodVikingBand@hotmail.com which is used for parent communication regarding general band information. For class and school related s, contact Mr. Payne at his school address apayne@conejo.k12.ca.us. Completed forms that are not turned in tonight, may be turned into the locked white box in the band room. Meeting adjourned at 8:29 PM. 2
