Historic East 9 th Street will be transformed into a winter wonderland with train station stops that feature free activities sponsored by local businesses. Located on East 9 th Street from Main Street to the railroad tracks, the event is open to the public and will run from 3pm-5pm. Meet Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves at the L&N Depot as they read Chris Van Allsburg s children s story The Polar Express and get a copy of the book for your family. Hear The Little Engine that Could at the Bus Depot, The Christmas Story at First Presbyterian Church, and other holiday tales at Books on Main with the Christian County Literacy Council. Hop a ride on a horse-drawn carriage or cruise down the street on a miniature train. Stop by the Pennyroyal Area Museum, the Woody Winfree Fire- Transportation Museum, the Christian County Historical Society, and the Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church to watch model trains zoom around extravagant layouts. Holiday crafts can be made at First Presbyterian Church with Alpha Kappa Alpha s Emerging Young Leaders, and you can get your face painted by the folks at Infinite Ink Tattoo Studio. Popcorn, hot chocolate, and other drinks are available along the route. This special event is sure to show you the essence of the holiday season. 3 Dec. 3-9 is National Influenza Vaccination Week, which is a national observance that was established to highlight the importance of continuing influenza vaccination. BACH Patient Centered Medical Homes are offering the flu vaccine to their assigned patients during clinic hours. Flu vaccines can be given on a walk-in basis or during scheduled well visit appointments. Active Duty Soldiers should follow their unit's guidance as to when and where they will receive their flu vaccine. Christmas and New Year Holidays Blanchfield Army Community Hospital personnel will observe the federal holidays Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The Warrior Care Clinic and all Soldier and Patient-Centered Medical Homes, including Campbell Army Airfield, LaPointe, Byrd, Air Assault, Gold, Young Eagle and Screaming Eagle, and pharmacies are on the federal holidays. The hospital remains open 24/7 for emergency services, inpatient care, and labor and delivery services. Specialty and surgical services will be closed for a Day of No Scheduled Activities Dec. 26 and Dec. 29. The Warrior Care Clinic and Soldier and Patient-Centered Medical Homes will remain open on the DONSA for normal operating hours Dec. 26 and Dec. 29. Pharmacy Services on Fort Campbell will consolidate at the Town Center Dec. 26 and 29. Town Center DONSA hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, the Patient and Soldier-Centered Medical Homes, specialty and surgical services will offer limited services after 2 p.m. Dec. 15. LaPointe and Byrd Medical Home Pharmacies as well as the Town Center Pharmacy will close at 2 p.m. Dec. 15. The hospital s Main Pharmacy and Screaming Eagle will be open until 4 p.m., with limited staffing to handle acute medication needs. Screaming Eagle Medical Home and SEMH Pharmacy will be closed Dec. 18. Enrollment Freeze New enrollments in TRICARE will be frozen in December but you can still access care. For about three weeks beginning Dec. 1, 2017, enrollments in TRICARE health plans will be delayed to transition to new regional contractors that will begin delivering care in January. 4 95th percentile. Intensive, multi-component behavioral interventions to promote sustained weight loss (12 to 26 sessions per year) are covered when rendered by a TRICARE-authorized provider. Types of behavioral management interventions include diet and physical activity guidance, strategies to promote and maintain lifestyle changes and more. This addition is a covered benefit regardless of whether the beneficiary uses a network or non-network provider, though costs are typically lower with a network provider. Tobacco Cessation The Army Wellness Center, 5662 Screaming Eagle Blvd., offers Ready to Quit every Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. This briefing educates all TRICARE beneficiaries and DoD civilians about dangers of tobacco and assess readiness to join the Tobacco Cessation Program. The Tobacco Cessation Program is offered the 1st 4th Wednesday monthly from noon to 1 p.m. For more information, call (270) Expanded Care Extended hours Blanchfield offers weekday appointments from 4 to 7 p.m. in an Extended Hours Clinic at Screaming Eagle Medical Home in Medical Office Building One, off Interstate 24, Exit 4, next to Tennova Healthcare. The Extended Hours clinic is available to enrolled Retirees and Family members, regardless of which BACH Patient Centered Medical Home patients are enrolled. Audio appointments Audio Appointments for enrolled Retirees and Family members. This convenient service allows patients to speak to a provider by phone, rather than face-to-face with their healthcare provider. Audio Appointments are offered Monday through Wednesday and Fridays for non-urgent medical concerns for individuals ages 2 to 65 who do not have pre-existing compromised health conditions. BACH General Information Missed Drug Take Back Day? Properly dispose of your expired, unused or unwanted medicine by dropping them in the Drug Drop Boxes placed inside the hospital s Main Pharmacy or Town Center Pharmacy during business hours. Accepted items include: prescription medications, controlled substance medication, over-the-counter medication, vitamins, medicated ointment/lotion, liquid medication in leak-proof containers and transdermal skin patches. Items not accepted include: needles, thermometers, contraband drugs, infectious waste/medical waste, personal care products, business waste, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans, and inhalers. How do I schedule/cancel appointments?
