Now is the time to prepare and plan for a successful year, and we re pleased to assist you with a wide array of programs and services. For example, if your holiday bills are overwhelming, make an appointment with one of our Personal Financial Management (PFM) professionals to help you develop a plan to manage them. Also, take note: Military Saves Week is February 25-March 3. Visit to Take the Pledge, a promise to yourself to build a stronger financial future. If you are relocating to a new duty station during the upcoming year, then make sure to register for our "Sailors on the Move" or "Sailors and Families on the Move" workshops. They present a wealth of information if you are moving within the Continental United States (CONUS) or outside of it (OCONUS). We also offer solution-focused counseling services for individuals, couples, families and children, as well as a New Parent Support Home Visitation Program for new Navy parents. In addition to pre-scheduled workshops, we also offer many workshops by special request of commands or family groups. 11 RETIRED ACTIVITIES OFFICE (RAO) The RAO provides services to support and enrich the lives of military retired personnel, their families and eligible former spouses of military retirees. This office serves as a liaison between local military retirees, organizations and other agencies working to ensure retirees and/or their family member receive benefits and entitlements due. These services include, but are not limited to: Pay entitlements Medical, NEX, commissary, burial and other Veteran Benefits Preparing claims Retired Serviceman s Family Protection Plan (RSFPP) Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) Advocate for Clients with their Defense Finance & Accounting Service (DFAS) issues Unpaid compensation Veterans Administration (VA) enrollment Applications to Board for Correction of Naval Records (BCNR / Form DD-149) Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) Enrollment in the Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) is a guarantee that a portion of your retirement pay will continue to be paid to a beneficiary after your death? SAPR Unit POC Training The Unit SAPR POC training is designed to prepare Service members how best to execute the SAPR Program within their command. Sailors will learn how to provide oversight of command compliance SAPR program requirements, maintain current information on victim resources, facilitate SAPR trainings at the command and ensure that all members of the unit have received proper training. This training helps Unit SAPR POCs feel supported and ready to implement the SAPR program and help prevent sexual assault. SAPR Unit POC Quarterly Refresher Meeting After basic training, SAPR Unit POCs are encouraged to attend quarterly refresher meetings to stay updated on policy changes, available resources, and the SAPR Program. In addition to ensuring the above duties are assigned and the appointed Sailors receive required training, all Commanding Officers (CO) must schedule a SAPR CO s Toolkit within (30) days of assuming command. FFSC Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) coordinate this toolkit, and can also support commands with SAPR briefs at command training, INDOCs, and other events. To reach your designated command SARC, contact FFSC. SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION & RESPONSE (SAPR) Registration is mandatory for all classes. Contact your command SARC for next available training. SAPR Victim Advocate (VA) Initial Training The SAPR VA provides critical support and response to victims of sexual assault. This mandatory training provides command-appointed VAs with the necessary information to support, inform, and empower victims. Casualty Assistance Call Officer (CACO) Training A Casualty Assistance Calls Officer (CACO) is the official representative for the Secretary of the Navy who, in the event of a casualty, provides information, resources and assistance to the Primary Next of Kin (PNOK) and Secondary Next of Kin (SNOK).
