2 The PLF Role to support PPQA PLFs are funded by NHS Yorkshire and the Humber. They work in partnership with the service providers and the Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to contribute to the development and maintenance of quality assured placements for all healthcare students. Support for the PPQA website is one of their many roles. How can they help with the PPQA website? PLFs can explain all about the information available on the website including: Access to the placement profiles Creation of a placement profile Maintenance of the mentor/practice educator register Access to the student and mentor/practice educator evaluations for a placement Completing a mentor/practice educator evaluation of the support provided by the HEI and your organisation. The placement audit process Documentation Setup of users names and passwords for placement staff and service managers to access the website How can they help you to support students? PLFs can provide assistance in the following areas: Advise of mentor/practice educator update courses available in your area Support new areas developing their placements to accept students Represent your views at curriculum planning meetings Advise you of the HEI contacts for your placement Provide advice and information about how to train as a mentor/practice educator, including accessing the online mentor update website Provide information about current courses and funding arrangements Work with service managers to ensure the quality assurance processes are robust PLFs have specific areas of interest.
