Many colleges are requiring this class as a prerequisite to enter into allied health programs such as nursing, physician assistants, physical therapy, occupational therapy. Take this course at WCHS for $100. It normally costs $600-$700 at a nurse aide training center!

10 You must be inside the threshold of the door when the bell rings, otherwise you are tardy. If you are late for 1 st block, you must go to the attendance office to sign in. Initial next to your name on the correct date at the clipboard. Only initial for you only you! Sit in your seat. Start on the bellringer. Everyone should be in their seats and quiet when the bell rings.

11 Our bellringers in health science are called Defibrillates or Defibs for short. What is a defibrillator? A machine which shocks the heart with an electrical current This jump starts the heart. We use the defibs to help jump start the class.

12 Worth 5 points/day Use one sheet of paper for defibs for the entire week. To receive credit, you must write the Date Question Response Submit on Fridays!

13 Check the Health Science website: Check the class crate for any papers You are responsible for make-up defibs when absent. Check the website. Don t copy from a friend.

14 Fire: Exit down the steps to the outside. Stay together! I will take attendance. Track Evac (Bomb Threat): In good weather, go to the track and look for number 52. In bad weather, go to the ag barn. Tornado: Boys locker room Earthquake: Under the tables in our room

16 Announcements Keep quiet during announcements. Be respectful. Textbook log Check out a book... Return it sign the logbook! Group work Give your best effort. Stay on task. Participate! Grooming Don t spray perfume/body spray in the classroom. Don t apply make-up during classtime.

17 Don t write in red ink that s MY color! Be respectful of others in the class. Teacher s desk and filing cabinets are off limits. Turn in papers in the back tray by the door. Class crate is on the big white table. Health science equipment is off limits unless specified.

18 A substitute is to be treated as a GUEST in the classroom. Sit in assigned seats. Business as usual. Be helpful don t be a pain. Usually my subs will ASK to come back to my classes because I have the BEST students in the building!

19 No food is allowed. Only water with a sealed, screw-top lid is allowed. If it s out, I ll tell you to throw it away.

20 ipads are for academic use during class We will use the ipads for notes, viewing powerpoints, academic games, etc. NO GAMING! NO MESSAGING! Taking video or pictures during classtime is at the discretion of the instructor. Please follow the direction of the teacher for ipad usage. We are learning too!

21 Do not copy assignments from your classmates. Copying ungraded notes is ok. Copying graded assignments is not. It is cheating! If caught cheating, both parties will receive a zero and will be written up.

22 Class is finished when I dismiss the class. Wait in your seat. Don t stand at the door and wait for the bell to ring. 4 th block you will need to put your chairs up on the tables at the end of the block. Thanks!
