3 ABOUT ARTSADMIN Artsadmin is a producing organisation, which enables artists to create without boundaries, connecting bold interdisciplinary work with local, national and international audiences. We also deliver free advice, training, and artist-led development opportunities for hundreds of artists: from young people getting involved in performance for the first time through to artists with established careers. In London s East End we have established a centre for the creation, development and presentation of new work, where, in our rehearsal, performance and meeting spaces, new talent is constantly nurtured. 4 DESCRIPTION Responsible to: Salary: Attendance Hours: Leave Entitlement: The Artsadmin Trainee will be part of the team at Artsadmin and will be managed by members of the Advisory and Producing teams. The Traineeship will be offered for one year from commencement of the placement, a salary of 15,600. Hours are 8 hours per day, usually within regular opening hours. The Artsadmin office is open between 9:30am-6:30pm five days a week, however, the Trainee may undertake out of office hours duties such as evening meetings, performances and events. There will be a leave entitlement of 20 days plus statutory holidays and company closures. Artsadmin s Traineeship programme has been running for many years. Each year, one candidate is offered a twelve-month traineeship in producing, project management and the provision of advice and information to artists, with a view to developing a career in contemporary arts. This traineeship would suit someone with a strong interest in contemporary performance wishing to develop a career in an administrative/producing capacity. Artsadmin particularly welcomes applications from those who have a proven interest in our area of work but need to gain more experience before entering full employment. Artsadmin welcomes applications from a broad range of backgrounds, ethnicities, ages and those who identify as disabled. The programme offers a long-term learning opportunity through direct involvement across Artsadmin s activity; assisting in developing and coordinating artists projects, and development and support schemes for artists working across contemporary performance. The programme in 2017/18 will enable the trainee to develop an active knowledge of all areas of Artsadmin s activity through working closely with Artists Producers and Advisors.

5 DESCRIPTION The Artsadmin Trainee will assist in the management of: Artists Projects activities The initial setting up of artists projects Tour booking (including company travel & accommodation, schedules & contact sheets) Liaising nationally and internationally with artists, venues, and production teams before, during and after productions Providing hands-on assistance to artists on projects, including creative feedback The marketing and communications strategies for each project Recruiting participants for projects Maintaining and updating project plans & schedules Evaluating projects as part of the core team Managing small projects where suitable Advocating for artists and generating interest in their projects Artist Development activities Supporting artists career development through advice, information and guidance Maintaining information resources to support the artistic community Supporting the co-ordination of Artsadmin s Bursary and BANNER award schemes ( Support and advocacy of Bursary and BANNER artists Supporting the coordination of showcases and documentation of Bursary and BANNER artists work Attendance at performances, talks and events relating to contemporary performance Editing and publishing content for Artsadmin s e-digest app and Supporting the programming and delivery of public events at Toynbee Studios General activities Day to day administrative support Researching opportunities & information Assisting with fundraising & grant applications Assisting in the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns Long-term strategic development of independent artists and companies Occasional basic book keeping, budgeting and petty cash
