The Foundation runs focused research and delivery programmes, aimed at identifying solutions to share more widely. We base our work on evidence. Our challenge is to build upon the value of supporters offer an excellent supporter journey through cross-selling products. Fundraising Strategy We aim to sustain the Foundation s income at around 5m, with grants contributing effectively to core costs, keeping tight control on central overheads and securing income from a wide variety of sources including legacies, individual donors, events, voluntary and statutory grants and contracts, achieving an annual surplus of income over expenditure in order to strengthen our unrestricted reserves position. For Grants Fundraising we will achieve this by: Helping ensure projects achieve their objectives, and within budget and timescale, so as to maintain a good relationship with funders Keeping a close eye on the finances of each project grant and reporting accordingly Developing partnerships with other organisations which offer new opportunities for substantial joint projects. Working with project staff to better match their project proposals to the interests of funders and within the Foundation s 5 year Strategic Plan. Securing an increasing value of multi-year restricted grants which contain a target minimum 25% contribution to our overall operating costs. The Fundraising team is motivated, business-minded and skilled to do their jobs well, to deliver strategic targets and revisit and develop the Strategy as they progress, in a cooperative and mutually supportive environment.

5 mployment Benefits Pension (non-contributory) The Mental Health Foundation considers it is important to encourage people to save for their retirement and as such provides staff with a 2% contribution as part of auto-enrolment from 3 months service. After successful completion of a probation period this contribution increases to 10% non-contributory. mployee Assistance Service At times staff members may face and need help with a variety of issues throughout their lives and as part of the commitment to staff members the Foundation provides an independent and confidential counselling and information telephone service. Support is available on a range of issues including legal, financial, emotional, health issues and work related concerns. Wellbeing Days Staff may take up to 3 days per annum for their personal mental health needs. Annual leave Staff receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 27 days after 5 years service. Christmas leave Staff will receive an additional 3 days leave at Christmas when the office closes between Christmas Day and re-opens after New Years Day. This is in addition to the annual leave entitlement. Life Assurance Scheme Staff will receive death in service life cover at four times their annual salary. Child Care Vouchers This is a flexible way to meet the costs of your childcare. These vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from National Insurance contributions and therefore present a saving for employees. Available following a qualifying period: Family friendly leave nhanced maternity pay is in place of 6 weeks full pay, 20 weeks half pay + SMP, and 26 weeks at SMP only. Available after a qualifying period. Flexible working/work life balance The right to request flexible working is available to all employees. There are a number of different flexible working arrangements available throughout the organisation, which can be arranged by mutual consent. Season ticket loan Interest free loans are available to purchase season tickets for the journey between home and work. Cycle to Work Scheme The Cycle to Work scheme is a UK Government tax exemption initiative introduced to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution. mployees will be able to purchase a bike of a value of up to 1,111 tax free.

Prevention is at the heart of what we do, because the best way to deal with a crisis is to prevent it from happening in the first place. In particular, we help people to access information about steps they can take to reduce the risks of experiencing mental health problems, increase their resilience and feel empowered to take action when problems are at an early stage. We have a long history of working directly with people including families, children and young people, those in later life, and those who are at high risk of developing mental health problems, such as people with learning disabilities. Purpose of post Grants are an important source of income for the Foundation, funding our major projects and totalling over 1.6m in The Head of Partnerships and an existing Grants Manager currently run the Foundation s grant fundraising programme in ngland and Wales, and we have a specific Grants Manager for Scotland. This new post will strengthen our capabilities for ngland and Wales, to help us achieve grants income of over 2m annually from new and existing trust, Lottery and statutory sources, and manage the resulting grants. Duties and responsibilities Strategic Contribute to the development of our Grants fundraising plans for ngland and Wales and through that the development of important new projects. Operational Develop and maintain excellent relationships with new and existing Trust, Statutory and Lottery funders

9 Contribute to a range of creative, well thought out and well-budgeted funding applications to potential funders which meet their priorities and our organisational objectives, including 6-figure applications to the Big Lottery Fund Assist project colleagues to evaluate, assess and write concise applications and draft detailed project budgets and project plans. Manage effective systems and schedules of applications and reporting to ensure that all deadlines are met. nsure that all funded projects and staff are aware of their funding requirements through clear and consistent communication of the above Identify new target funders, initiating research and implementing applications and ensure that all potential sources of income are explored Keep Trust, Statutory and Lottery funders informed of progress on work that they have funded through timely submission of reports. nsure that these relationships are well supported where appropriate by telephone calls and/or face to face meetings Maximise the use of the Foundation s relationship database Raisers dge and ensure all Trust, Statutory and Lottery records are kept up to date. Participate in regular team meetings, reporting and liaising on ongoing projects Take responsibility for the grant management of selected grants chasing and thanking for grant payments, advising projects on spending to date, variances from budget and on appropriate spending, and working with Finance to ensure all appropriate contributions to core costs and salaries are transferred to general funds. Operational Trusts, Lottery and Statutory funding sources Managerial Manage excellent relationships with Trust, Statutory and Lottery funders Manage existing and new grants in respect of achieving agreed outcomes, monitoring spending and meeting reporting requirements Relationships Internal Maintain excellent relationships with staff in programmes to support their work with current and potential funders Work closely with the other members of the Grants team, sharing out responsibilities as appropriate according to skills and availability, and helping to manage the pipeline of speculative grants Work with Fundraising and Communications staff as appropriate e.g. in sourcing case studies from projects for donor appeals and supporter newsletters xternal Maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential funding bodies

10 Financial Responsibility for contributions towards the restricted grants income target Helping to secure additional unrestricted donations from trusts Monitor and review restricted grant spending against budget in order to be able to report accurately to funders and advise projects on spending Construct detailed and effective budgets for project grant applications Measures of performance Significant contribution to securing new grants and effective grant management Provide regular analysis reports and feedback Other duties / general Promote good practice in relation to mental health at work issues, and enable the Foundation to be a model of best practice in all aspects of mental health at work Uphold and promote the Foundation s commitment to equal opportunities and respect for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Partnerships General To help manage and support interns and volunteers.
