1 Regeneration and Housing nergy Strategy - Concerto Project Officer One Year Secondment/Fixed Term Contract PO2: Starting salary 31,350 rising in annual increments to 33,777 p.a. including London Weighting. Are you a skilled project manager, with experience of managing grant funded projects? London Borough of Lambeth is ideally looking for someone with a real interest and some experience in energy efficiency and renewable energy. We are seeking a dedicated officer to manage Lambeth s involvement in the Concerto (costiler) initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in an innovative demonstration project at the forefront of the sustainable energy agenda. Concerto (costiler) is a urope wide initiative proactively creating a more sustainable future for urope s energy needs through the delivery of local renewable energy and community energy solutions. One of these projects is based in the London Borough of Lambeth. To facilitate the smooth running of the project we are seeking an officer to lead the council s involvement. The officer will project manage the Lambeth Concerto process, working closely with our appointed lead consultants Sustainable nergy action and other key partners. The Concerto Officer will ensure the efficient management of grant claiming and auditing processes are undertaken to key deadlines, so ensuring that the Council is able to maximise the funding stream available. Regular project team meetings will need to be arranged, chaired, minuted and actioned. You will meet uropean partners and there may be limited opportunities to travel to urope to forums and events with our uropean partners. You will operate from Housing Regeneration in the nvironment team based in Hambrook House, Porden Road SW2. Grant funding is being claimed for a low energy refurbishment of 3 tower blocks in Kennington, an innovative combined heat and power project at Roupell Park and the installation of solar power on 6 schools in Lambeth. You will work with Officers and consultants leading on these projects and also lead on the feasibility study and possible implementation of the Lambeth nergy services company (SCO). To act as the Council s nominated Concerto / costlier Project Officer, ensuring that the Council is able to maximise the funding stream available while promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy 3. To project manage the Concerto / costlier Lambeth project. To arrange project team meetings, provide minutes; arrange sub group meetings as required, specifically with Finance and Audit and with other Directorates and agencies as required. 4. To co-ordinate Concerto data gathering and complete reporting requirements, ensuring spend / grant take up profiles are met. nsure that internal funding initiatives are identified, approved and properly allocated in accordance with statutory guidelines and the Council s policies and procedures. 5. To progress project goals and milestones working with SA Renue, the ducation Directorate and with staff and consultants in respect of the thelred, Roupell Park, school and other projects 6. Act as the principal point of contact for staff in all departments of the Council, external agencies and partners with regard to the Concerto project. 7. Assist the nvironmental Development Manager in other work areas as required to promote energy efficiency and affordable warmth in Lambeth. 8. In consultation with DM and SA Renue ensure progress against key milestones on Concerto is maintained. 9. Complete monitoring forms and grant returns to meet required deadlines
4 10. Attend as required Concerto meetings, providing recommendations, spreadsheets, background papers, briefing notes, reports and arranging speakers as required. Attend and service related Concerto variety of other departmental working parties and other meetings with partner agencies and residents as appropriate 11. Organise meeting of uropean partners in Lambeth if required including hotel arrangements, meeting venue booking and arrangements for refreshments II. Corporate Responsibilities 1. Carry out duties of this post in accordance with the Data protection Act (84) and the Health and Safety at Work legislation, Best Value legislation and other statutory requirements, Council policies, procedures and Standing Orders. 2. To undertake any other duties that may be required to meet the exigencies of the service and these may be varied from time to time to meet the needs of the service and in particular with respect to the R&H and corporate remit of the nvironmental Development Team. 3. Carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Council s qual Opportunities polices and Anti-Racists strategies. To undergo such training, as is required, in respect of these policies. To keep abreast with any developments or initiatives taken in relation to these policies.
