5 2014 TAE4 HW State Conference Tours On Thursday afternoon, April 24, we hope you will enjoy some tours of attractions in and around Franklin. Tours will start from the hotel in individual cars by carpooling. They are scheduled to leave around 2:45 and you should be back at the hotel between 5:00 and 5:30. Choices are listed below. A fee applies to some of these tours. 1. The Carter House This is a tour of the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War fought in November of This modest farmhouse was in the middle of the fighting and has bullet holes to prove it. There is an excellent guided tour of the house and other buildings. If we get ten people in our group, we can get the group rate of $12 per person. Otherwise, the tour is $15 and well worth it. After the tour, this group is urged to take a walk in Historic Downtown Franklin which is just a few blocks away. For more information, check out 2. Noble Springs Dairy Noble Springs Dairy is a Grade A Goat Dairy and Artisanal Goat cheese making operation that was licensed in The sprawling farm includes several valleys and natural springs and is protected by a conservation easement. Dustin & Justyne Noble, the owners of Noble Springs Dairy have worked hard to restore the farm that has supported family farming since the seventeenth century and enjoy sharing their passion for agriculture. Noble Springs goat cheese, goat milk yogurt and goat milk products are currently available at numerous retail locations and restaurants in the Greater Nashville Area. This tour costs $10 and afterward we suggest you tour the shops in nearby Leipers Fork. For more information go to springs.com. 3. Tennessee Equine Hospital Located in the heart of middle Tennessee horse country, Tennessee Equine Hospital is a world class medical and surgical referral facility. The 22 stall hospital includes a fully equipped surgical suite, state of the art diagnostic tools, eight IV fluid stalls, one climate controlled stall, a large mare and foal stall, separate isolation and reproduction facilities and much more! O More College of Design A tour of this small college in Franklin is pending confirmation and we are not sure about a fee. O More College of Design is a four year, not for profit institution offering Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, Interactive Design, and Interior Design. They prepare students to cultivate a life long pattern of critical thinking, preparing graduates to become responsible citizens in the ever evolving world of design.
