(1) Beginning Crochet Date: Saturday, April 29, Registration Deadline: April 21, 2017 Time: 10:00 a.m. 12 noon, NE Age: 8 and older - Class size: 10 This workshop correlates to 4-H project: Level 1 Beginning Crocheted Clothing or Item Learn the basics of how to crochet starting at the very beginning. During this class, you will learn some simple crochet stiches and how they come together to create a hot pad trivet. 1 small package, 200 yards, of worsted weight COTTON yarn (one example is Sugar 'n Cream brand yarn) Crochet hook size H (2) 4-H Sarpy County Fair Entry Information Meeting Date: Monday, May 8, No registration required. Come meet the 4-H staff and learn what it takes to be successful in reaching your 4-H goals. At this meeting, learn: How to fill your summer with fun 4-H fair projects! How to apply your interests and knowledge to select fair projects and how to use the 4-H Sarpy County Fairbook. How to enter your projects in the Sarpy County Fair and getting selected for the Nebraska State Fair. (3) Smocked Sundress Date: Tuesday, June 6, Registration Deadline: June 1 Time: 9 a.m. 12:00 p.m. (noon) Age: 10 and older - Class size: 6 This workshop correlates to 4-H project: Sewing for Fun Simple Dress and the 4-H Fashion Show Have fun learning to sew and constructing a simple sundress! You will also learn the basics of the sewing machine. Sewing machine will be provided. - Smocked Fabric. Measure your chest. Add 1 inch for seam allowance. This is the amount of fabric you will need to purchase. Fabric should be purchased by measuring from the smocked end of the fabric bolt. This comes in a variety of lengths. - 1 yard of 1 inch width coordinating grosgrain ribbon - Matching thread, sewing pins, and fabric shears (4)Table Toppers Contest Workshop Date: June 7, Registration Deadline: June 5 Age: 5 18 This workshop correlates to 4-H project: The Table Toppers Contest will be held on June 27 in the afternoon. Set up at 3 p.m. Why participate in the Table Toppers Contest? It is a fun way learn how to: properly set a table and plan nutritious meals using MyPlate, online at express originality and creativity in choosing a theme and present it to the judge express knowledge of food, nutrition and food safety

Come and experience the farm and Nebraska Agriculture by learning about beef production, poultry production, crop production and how to grow vegetables for you and your family. Yes, there will be some live animals to see and learn about as well as LOTS of agricultural-related snacks. If you join up with Bug Boot Camp you will discover how to build a bug from the inside out and better understand these majestic creatures! Features include a live insect and arachnid zoo with specimens you can hold or touch and a grasshopper dissection to learn about insect anatomy. (8a, 8b, 8c) Clover Kid Nature Camp Date: Thursday, June 15, Registration deadline: June 8 (9) Muffin Magic Date: Friday, June 16, Registration deadline: June 9 Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon) Age: 8 and older - Class size: 10 This workshop correlates to 4-H project: Healthy Lifestyles Muffins, Healthy Lifestyles Cost Comparison Exhibit Muffins are a fast treat to make for breakfasts, brunches, light dinners or anytime snacks. Learn how to use kitchen utensils and to make delicious muffins from scratch. Supplies will be provided. A reminder that youth with longer hair should plan to pull it back.
3 (10) 4-H Fashion Show Contest Workshop Date: Monday, June 19, Registration deadline: June 15 Age: 5-18 This workshop correlates to 4-H project: 4-H Fashion Show Contest Judging will be held on June 20 by appointment, the 4-H Fashion Show is held at the Sarpy County Fair on Aug. 2 at 6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those entering the 4-H Fashion Show to learn modeling skills, tips regarding general appearance and basic accessories. There is no fee for this fun and engaging workshop. (11) 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens Date: Wednesday June 21, Registration deadline: May 19 Time: 9:00 a.m. 3:30 pm Cost: $15 Age: Class size: 20 home. Community service project is required.
