1 Spring 2018 Virginia Tech Career Fair Civil & Environmental Engineering February 20 th & February 21 st The Inn at Virginia Tech Dear Employer, We are delighted that you chose to join us at this semester s Civil and Environmental Engineering Career Fair at Virginia Tech and cannot wait to see you! Please take a few minutes to review the important information contained in this packet. Parking Employers are permitted to park at The Inn at Virginia Tech located at 901 Prices Fork Rd, Blacksburg, VA Please see the attached for directions and the campus map. Hollins Instructions Hollins Exhibits will be providing display support services for this event. If you would like to ship your display or any items to the career fair via Hollins Exhibits, please follow the instructions provided to you through the exhibitor s information kit. The exhibitor s information kit should have been ed to you upon registering for this career fair. If you have any further questions, please call Hollins Exhibits at Please note that everything for this event is provided (booth, table, power etc.). Hollins Exhibits is only providing shipping services. You are not required to purchase anything from them. If you do choose to use this shipping service, Hollins Exhibits will bill you directly. Hotel Accommodations We recommend that you make hotel reservations as soon as possible. You may contact The Inn at Virginia Tech for lodging on campus. Please call the hotel directly at or toll free at (between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm Monday-Friday). Please make sure to mention that you are with the Civil Engineering Career Fair for a discounted rate. Other options are listed below (nearest distance first): Hyatt Place Blacksburg/University at is brand new as of last year, and is very close to campus. Residence Inn by Marriott Blacksburg/University at is right by Hyatt Place in a new shopping and eating center on Prices Fork. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Blacksburg at is just down the road from The Inn. The Hilton Garden Inn, which is near campus, across from the Holiday Inn can be reached at Courtyard by Marriott Blacksburg is another option across town, at The Holiday Inn in Christiansburg at , is in the next town over with more options near restaurants. Internet Instructions Guest internet is available and free. You will not need an additional log in to connect to the hotel s wireless internet. When connecting to wireless, you will be prompted to select a connection please connect to Hotel Guest and NOT Virginia Tech.

Career Fair Schedule of Events Day 1: Tuesday, February 20, 2018 The Inn at Virginia Tech Employer Set-up: Exhibition: 8:30 am 10:00 am 10:00 am 4:00 pm Day 2: Wednesday, February 21, 2017 The Inn at Virginia Tech Interviewing 8:00 am 4:00 pm Day 2 Interview Instructions Optional interviews will take place on Day 2, Wednesday February 21 st. Please inform Taylor Bolte (tbolte17@vt.edu) prior to the event if your company plans to hold on-campus interviews. While most firms find it easiest to follow the official interview day format, you are not required to do so. We suggest using the attached interview sign-up sheet to keep track of your interview appointments. Thirty (30) minute interviews will take place from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a one hour break from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Students will sign-in upon arrival The Inn at Virginia Tech and wait for a company representative to bring them back to the interview space. The layout for interview rooms will be exactly like Day 1 of the career fair. Curtains will be provided for privacy and employers will be assigned to every other booth to further maximize privacy. Each interview space will have a small table and 2-3 chairs. Space is limited in each interview room so no more than 2 company representatives can comfortably interview a candidate. If you have made other arrangements for interviewing or schedules, please communicate with the VT CEE representatives.

5 DIRECTIONS The Inn at Virginia Tech 901 Prices Fork Rd Blacksburg, VA From the Roanoke Regional Airport Parking Lot Road: 1. Take right onto main road, stay in right lane 2. Take first right-exit ramp WATCH SIGNS FOR I-81 & I-581 (& Blacksburg) 3. After approximately ¼ mile, take right exit onto I-581 North 4. Stay on I-581 until it dead-ends into I Take left exit onto I-81 South [If all else fails, just follow signs to Interstate I-81 South towards Blacksburg and Virginia Tech it s fairly well marked.] From Interstate 81 South: 1. Exit at the Christiansburg/Blacksburg/Virginia Tech Exit (Exit 118) 2. Follow the signs for Blacksburg & Virginia Tech - Hwy 460 West. 3.
