Interesting Chocolate Facts By Brian Rosso Chocolate is a food enjoyed by most people, especially at Valentine s Day. Here are some interesting facts about chocolate: Chocolate is a great source of antioxidants, which have been shown to reduce a person s risk of developing cancer and heart disease. Snickers is the No. 1 selling chocolate bar in the world. Eating dark chocolate in moderation can lower a person s cholesterol levels. Americans prefer milk chocolate over dark chocolate; however, the consumption of dark chocolate is increasing. Try to eat dark chocolate containing at least 40 percent cacao (will be stated on the chocolate candy wrapper) for the most health benefits. The first United States chocolate factory was built in Chocolate can be deadly to dogs. The average American eats 12 pounds of chocolate every year. 3 3 Groundhog Day Every year on Groundhog Day, America s favorite weatherman appears. In honor of Punxsutawney Phil, share these facts about groundhogs. Groundhog is the typical name for these animals, but they are also called woodchucks. Every year, groundhogs hibernate. Their temperature drops to just above freezing, and their breathing and heart rate slow dramatically. From Kathy - Dietary Please do not come into the dining room if you are not feeling well. Sick trays will be delivered for up to three days for influenza or after a hospitalization. Housekeeping Remember to use the laundry bag that was provided to you upon move-in. Anything more than what the bag holds will be a separate charge. Toilet Tissue Every resident is issued two rolls of tissue per week. Presidential Pun Q: Which U.S. president is least guilty? A: Abraham Lincoln. He s in a cent.
