2 2 CHANGES We have made some changes in the Life Enrichment schedule. We appreciate your flexibility as we work to offer a wide range of activities that are accessible to as many of our residents as possible. Meijer trips will continue weekly. They will be on Monday mornings after the bank run. The bank run leaves at 9:30am. When the bus returns from the bank, Sherri will pick up the shoppers and head to Meijer. The schedule on Thursdays will be as follows: On the first and third Thursday, Sherri will take residents shopping from 11am- 12:30pm. The stores will vary, but include Target, Walmart and the Dollar Store. On the second and fourth Thursday, Sherri will drive those interested to Riverview Bingo at noon and pick them up at 3pm. 3 3 Wit & Wisdom What s New in the View It s always a great day at American House Riverview, and the days of October will be no exception! October is Octoberfest! Here at American House Riverview, though, it is going to be OctPolishFest because we are going to be entertained by none other than the Kielbasa Kings!! See the calendar for details. Weekly Happy Hour kicks off this month. Come down to the lobby for some libation at 2 on Fridays before heading into the weekly entertainment. The Juliets and Romeos will be going to Mexican Garden this month. Exercise classes will continue, and on the 12th, Movin & Groovin will now be led by JoLynnn. Those of you who loved Lori Adams will love JoLynn! Computer classes are returning. Flu Shots are scheduled for Oct. 18th between 9 and Noon. HOMECOMING WEEK The week of October 24th is Homecoming Week around the House. We are encouraging our residents to wear any of their old high school or college gear. We will have Crazy Hair Day, Crazy Hat Day, Favorite Team Shirt Day. Crafters will be making pompoms!!! A Homecoming Ride past some of the local high schools will be on Tuesday the 25th at 10am. Friday night will include a bonfire and s mores on the patio. Put on your college duds and come to the Tailgate Party on Saturday at 11 in the Lobby, where Chuck Sharp will be playing the fight songs. Last year, Michigan farmers sold more than 20 million bushels of apples. Here are a few: Paula Red, McIntosh, Jonathan, Empire, Idared, Rome and Honeycrisp.
