The Minnetonka garden site is located at Kelly Park. Registration is in-person on a first-come, firstserve basis at the Recreation Services Department, Minnetonka City Hall. Limit two plots per household. For more information, call (952) Minnetonka garden plots are 20 x 20 & $25 for one plot. Resident registration begins Monday, March 6. Hopkins provides a garden site in Hopkins Valley Park where residents can lease a 20 x 20 garden plot. Hopkins plots are sold only at Hopkins City Hall. Limit two plots per household. The season consists of seven weeks of play with a playoff for the top 4 teams of each league at the end of the regular season. Separate Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday night leagues are offered with games starting the week of May 15. Registration materials will be available online at beginning Feb. 1. Location: Central Park in Hopkins; Oberlin Park in Minnetonka May 16 July 14 Team Fee $230 Monday Wednesday Thursday Adult Softball It is not too early to start thinking about spring and summer softball leagues for men s, women s and co-rec teams. The following leagues will be offered in 2017: Co-Rec: Mon., Tues., Wed. Men s Single Game: Mon., Tues., Thurs. Men s Double-Header: Tues., Thurs. Women s: Wed. Registration materials will be available online at on February 1. Men s Broomball League The seven week men s broomball league will be held on Thursdays, January 5 February 16 (weather dependent). Games will be scheduled outdoors at Valley and Oakes Park in Hopkins. Registration information is posted online at Team registration started in October. If interested, call (952) as soon as possible to see if any openings remain. Indoor Co-Rec Soccer Here is your chance to play traditional soccer on an indoor court (wood surface approximately 170 x 100 ). Teams play seven a side (Goalie + 6), with at least 2 females on the court at all times.there are three 6-week sessions of co-rec indoor soccer offered. March 5. Games are played Sunday evenings starting as early as 5:30 p.m. or as late 9:30 p.m. in the Lindbergh Center at Hopkins High School. The winter session begins January 8. This will be followed by the spring session starting on The team registration fee is $525. There is no individual registration available. The program fee does not include the official t-shirt (red/white reversible). This t-shirt must be worn by all players and can be purchased at the Recreation Services office for $15 if needed. League information is available online at eminnetonka.com/sports/soccer-adult. Individuals looking to join a team may contact the Recreation Services office at (952) to be placed on a list of available players. Names from the list will be passed onto team managers looking for players to complete their team. Winter Session: January $525 Spring Session: March $525 Basketball 3-Player League This eight-week league is set to begin on February 8. Games will be played on Wednesday nights through March 29. This self-officiated program is inexpensive and fun! All you need are 3 4 other people and a ball. Games will take place at Hopkins West Junior High. All teams will play two games per night, with game times at 6:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Registration begins January 3 for returning teams and January 10 for new teams. To register call Recreation Services at (952) The cost of this activity is $140 per team. Team entry fee includes 5 team t-shirts. Location: Hopkins West Jr. High Wednesday, February 8 March 29 Time Team Fee :30 & 7:30 p.m. $140 Badminton Open Gym Players are welcome to drop in and learn the sport or improve on your skills. Please supply your own racket (there is a limited supply available for use if needed). Up to six courts are set up for double play generally. Space is limited to 48 players each evening. Location: Lindbergh Center, Eisenhower Community Center Main Gymnasium, or Tanglen Elementary (Visit the city website for the most up-to-date location schedule.) Days: Wednesdays and Fridays (year-round) Time: 7 9:30 p.m. Ages: Adults and youth in grades 10 and up. $5/night, or punch cards are available to purchase for $20, $40 or $60, payable on the court.

Once a class has started, you are not able to register for it online anymore. You will need to call Recreation Services at (952) and register by phone. Shaolin Kung Fu Learn traditional authentic Shaolin Kung Fu (Northern, Southern and Temple styles) in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Classes are full participation and non-competitive, and designed to develop skills at your own speed and abilities by focusing on exercises and repetition to improve techniques. Come to learn and develop traditional kicks, punches, forms, self-defense and advance into sparring techniques, board breaking, traditional instruments, and more. Shaolin Kung Fu is an aerobic, great weight loss and control activity that builds muscle, motor skills, flexibility, and power. Other benefits include increased balance, coordination, discipline, reaction time, and lifelong health advantages including a keen awareness of your health and body and increased esteem and confidence. Kid-Fu is great for children (ages 5+) and parents (parents are welcome to register and participate with their child). You are eligible to test and earn through your black sash. Testing is conducted the last day of the session. Additional fees for testing and uniforms. Instructor Robert Mehus is a certified 4 th Degree Black Sash with over 20 years of teaching experience. Join the #1 martial art Shaolin Kung Fu. NOTE: When one person registers for a combination of two classes in the same session the cost is $74 or single class is $59. 4 Adult Programs 2017 Winter/Spring Brochure Page 38 Online registration: (952) Monday Friday Hours 8 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Volleyball Open Gym Men and women who are interested in developing their volleyball skills in a social, semi-competitive setting are invited to take part in our co-rec open gym program. A Sunday evening program is offered through March 26, 7 9:30 p.m. in the Lindbergh Center at Hopkins High School. Two separate courts of play are offered, based on ability. Nets will be set up and players are asked to bring their own volleyball if possible. Advance registration is not required. Sundays thru March 26 Time: 7 9:30 p.m. $5/evening (on Sunday nights free to Lindbergh Center members) Volleyball Leagues Recreation Services offers some of the best adult volleyball programs in the area. The 10-match winter session of adult volleyball begins the week of January 2. The 6-week spring session begins the week of March 20. Spring league registration begins February 6 for returning teams, February 13 for new teams. Matches will be played in the Lindbergh Center at Hopkins High School, or in the West Junior High Activity Structure. Teams play 6 a side. Matches begin as early as 6:45 p.m. or as late as 8:45 p.m. The fee for the winter session is $260/team; the spring session fee is $125/team. WOMEN S LEAGUE: Games will be played on Monday evenings. There are 2 4 levels of Women s Winter Session: January $260 Men s Winter Session: January $260 Co-Rec Thursday Winter Session: January 5 ability. By practicing Pilates regularly, you can achieve a number of health benefits, including improved core strength and stability, posture, balance and flexibility. Zumba Gold Ditch the workout and join the party! Zumba Gold is a Latin inspired dance-fitness program featuring easy-to-follow rhythms and a variety of upbeat music. It is a low impact, less intense form of Zumba designed for beginners and active older adults. Working out has never been so much fun! New for Wednesday: Zumba Gold toning routines will be added to the class format. This class combines Zumba Gold moves with the added benefit of upper body toning, utilizing light hand weights.
