He met a woman at a well and said, Follow me, and you will never be irsty again. She dropped her bucket and ran to get all of her friends. Join us for our ANNUAL TRUNK-OR-TREAT event on Sunday, October 27 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Children and adults will be decked out in costumes for a fun and safe alternative to trick-or-treating. At TRUNK-OR-TREAT, you bring your vehicle and give out goodies from e trunk or cargo area. Please put is date on your calendars. Look for e display beginning is Sunday in e Crossing. 5 MISSIONS AND EVANGELISM OPERATION SHOE BOX It s at time of year again! Our W ednesday Night Elementary Missions Team is asking for your help in collecting small gift items, shoe boxes, and wrapping paper for our Operation Christmas Child program is year. Please help us by donating small gifts for our boxes to send to needy children roughout e world. They also ask for $7 per box to help in e transport of ese boxes. All donations are needed by October 27. You can drop off your donations in e Crosswalk at our Donation and Recycle Rack! Suggested items include: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch, toys at light up or make noise (wi extra batteries), Slinky, pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, toobrushes, toopaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washclo, hard candy and lollipops, mints, gum, T- shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (wi extra batteries). Do not include: used or damaged items, war-related items, chocolate or food, liquids or lotions, breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers, or aerosol cans. YOUTH MINISTRY COS- An old idea made new again. The Council of Schools is a group of students selected to give Jim and e You Committee feedback on current you culture, trends, and programming ideas. The Council will strive to have eir membership consist of students from all e schools in e area at we reach and of varying interest. Hopefully, we can bring aletes, artist, cheerleaders and academics, Debs, Dusty s and independents to e table in order to devise a strategy to reach more of e student population in Meridian, Lauderdale County and beyond! Meetings will be held monly on Sunday Nights and ere will be a brief interview and application process. If your student is contacted please encourage him or her to consider is opportunity. Coming up is mon is our annual All Hallows Eve Ball, Trunk or Treat and Fright Fest at Six Flags over Georgia. W i all of is on e calendar, we have been asked by Suzie Broadhead to help wi e East Mississippi State Hospital Haunted Grove fund-raiser. Many of our girls are already involved rough Dusty and Deb service groups, but ere are plenty of us who are not so we can help in a number of ways. They have asked for our help on October 28, 29, or 30 if we are available. I would love to see us help on Monday and/or Tuesday so please let Jim Cain know if your student (parents are invited too) is available and interested.
