2 First Family Chimes Sermon This Sunday Message from God s Word Reading the Bible Through in One Year Our next meeting to discuss the readings will be Sunday, August 26,2018. Dr. Chuck Owens Wednesday Night Bible Study for Men A Bible study for men, taught by Pastor Chuck, will begin at 6:00 on Wednesday night, August 22, for six weeks in the Adult Ed Building. The study is entitled Act Like Men, The Bible Story. Books are available in the church office. Student Ministry Join us this Sunday for Bible Study at 9:45 a.m. Resurge will meet this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Rev. Jared Green August 26 Guinness Night!! We will once again endeavor to do the impossible and hoping to be the world s best or at least the best in Valdosta. Admission: One roll of aluminum foil. Children s Ministry Please join us as we begin a new church year in Sunday School and Valdosta Kids. We are excited about being with your children and ministering to them. Page 2

Rev. Terry Sampson Annual Planning Day (Notice change in date & time) For all Sunday School Teachers & Leaders, September 9 at 3:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Business Conference We will not have a Business Conference this month. Copies of the report are available in the church office. Music Ministry Join Us In Choir Each Week Preschool and Children s Choirs will resume August 15. First Voices Choir meets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Rev. 4 First Family Chimes First Family News Sanctuary Flowers The beautiful flowers are placed in the Sanctuary today to the glory of God and in loving memory of Elizabeth DeLoach Jarvis by her children: Jimmy, Mike, Julie and Missy. The flowers also honor and memorialize the placement and dedication of the King James Bible in the Sanctuary in 1954, in memory of our great grandparents, George R. and India Blanton DeLoach, by their eldest son, Fred DeLoach, Sr. Proverbs 22:28; 1Thessalonians 5:21; 2 Thessalonians 2:15. Expression of Sympathy The staff and church family extend sincere Christian love and sympathy to the family of Deborah Sigmon on the death of her father. The sitting area in the main hallway near the church office is furnished in loving memory of Stan and Margie Tedders by their family. Ladies Prayer Group Saturday, September 22; 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. In the Langdale Chapel. Please contact Lynn Ross for information.
