As you visit our beautiful residential campus, we invite you participate in the many informative workshops, urs, and presentations we ve planned for you throughout the day. Please refer the event grid inside this brochure and plan your day s activities. You can do it all or just a little. This day is for you, and it s designed help you see why Chico State is the best choice. A large selection of our student services, like Financial Aid and Admissions, will have information tables staffed from 8 a.m. 3 p.m. in the Bell Memorial Union (BMU). We will also have a Student Involvement Fair in the Student Services Center Plaza along with our Associated Students (AS) Activity Fair in Trinity Commons from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Free continental breakfast will be served in the AS Marketplace. 3 Academic Showcases Academic Showcases give students and families the opportunity speak with faculty and staff directly related their area of study. Each showcase will be hosted by an individual college and highlight program excellence. After meeting on the Kendall Hall lawn, an escort will walk you the designated location. How Get a Job on Campus: Many students meet their college expenses by working part-time during their academic career. The Associated Students (AS) of CSU, Chico along with Chico State, offer the convenience of on-campus employment that connects learning life. Combined, the AS and Chico State employs more than 4000 students annually in a variety of entry-level and semi-skilled jobs. Join this presentation learn about the different opportunities, the application process, and how prepare for your first day at work. AS-Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE): Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE), an Associated Students program, is the largest student-run organization on the Chico State campus. Annually, 2,000 Chico State students volunteer through CAVE s 12 programs serving children, older adults, people with special needs and people experiencing homeless, as well as volunteering for environmental projects and with local animal shelters. Serving the community since 1966, CAVE s mission is provide Chico State students with meaningful volunteer opportunities, develop student leaders, and serve a broad base of community needs.

Examples include microscopes that can see inside rocks, field equipment measure water quality, and seismometers measure earthquakes. Here you will see the mannequins, monirs, and equipment students use practice their nursing skills. Tours will be given on a rolling basis. Talk with current students one on one about their experience being physics majors at Chico State. Center for Water and the Environment (CWE) Tour When: 10 a.m. Where meet: Holt Hall, Room 141 Description: CWE is a collective of faculty focused on research and education that is related Water and the Environment. The Center includes faculty from diverse backgrounds: chemistry, biological sciences, economics, environmental sciences, engineering, agriculture, etc. This ur will highlight the work of Dr. Donald Miller (Biological Sciences) and his student research assistants. Participants will get a chance view their Enmology Collection that contains specimens from Eurasia and Indo-Australasia, including specimens from a biologically rich region of Papua New Guinea that has never before been explored scientifically. Basic techniques in mounting, identifying, labeling and organizing will be demonstrated. Duration: 25 minutes Meriam Library Special Collections Open House When: 11 a.m. 2 p.m. Where: Special Collections, located in room 305 on the third floor of the library Description: The Special Collections Department supports the University s local hisry resources, University hisry, and manuscript, phograph, and map collections related the hisry and heritage of Northeastern California. In addition, we hold the Meriam Library s Rare Book collection and provide digitization services create the Library s digital collections. We
