COLLEGE WELCOME AND PRE-ADVISING SESSIONS Students and their guests will be escorted to a welcome from their academic college, where they also will hear about degree requirements and what their college has to offer. 10:30 A.M.-3:15 P.M. ACADEMIC ADVISING APPOINTMENTS* Academic advising appointments are scheduled throughout the day. Please be mindful of the time and place for your advising appointment. * Appointment time will be received during College Welcome and Pre - Advising Session. Time: Location: 10:30-11:15 A.M. PAYING FOR PURDUE Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Room 1055 This session will cover tuition billing, payment options, account access, how Financial Aid credits student bills, steps necessary to utilize loans, and work-study information. 10:30-11:15 A.M. LUNCH Ford Dining Court Students and their guests will experience one of Purdue s award - winning dining courts for their on -campus meal. Arrive anytime during the adver - tised lunch hours. Lunch will be provided for the stu - dent and up to two registered guests. Any additional or unregistered guests may pay at the door ($ tax per person, cash or credit). 12:30-1:15 P.M. HEALTH AND SAFETY Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Room 1087 This session will cover campus health care, onsite pharmacy resources, safety, and emergency response and notifications. 12:30-1:15 P.M. B-INVOLVED AND B-SUCCESSFUL Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Room 1055 Build your personal success at Purdue and prepare for careers by participating in internships, research, leadership experiences and campus activities. Heine Pharmacy Building, Room 118 Families may walk in to have prescription insurance information entered into the system and have students pick up an Authorization to Share form. 2:30-3:15 P.M. FIRST-YEAR EXPECTATIONS: UNDERSTANDING TRANSITIONS, OFFERING SUPPORT, KNOWING THE RESOURCES Loeb Playhouse (June 18-22), Elliott Hall of Music (June 25-29, July 2-6, July 9-13) Staff in the Offce of the Dean of Students and Wellness Programs will discuss the transition process from high school to Purdue, how to best provide support for your student, and what resources are available on campus. 3:30 P.M. FALL COURSE REQUEST PROCESS Locations assigned by colleges Many students will be involved with the fall course request process in assigned labs at this time. Students who enrolled in courses during their academic advising appointment are encouraged to attend the Information Fair. 3:30-4:45 P.M. INFORMATION FAIR AND ID CARD PICKUP Wilmeth Active Learning Center Basement Students and their guests will be directed to the Information Fair at the end of the day, where there will be opportunities to talk with many of - fices on campus that are of interest to incoming students and families. The full list of Information Fair participants can be found at purdue.edu/ orientation/star/information - fair.html. Students who uploaded an ID photo before coming to campus will pick up their Purdue ID card at the Information Fair specifically at the ID Card Offce area. Students who did not upload a photo for their ID card before coming to STAR can go to the ID Card Offce in Hovde Hall, Room 14 before 4:45 p.m. to have a photo taken. All students must be able to show a government - issued photo ID to pick up their Purdue ID card. 10:15 A.M.-3:15 P.M. FOREIGN LANGUAGE TESTING Stanley Coulter Hall, Room 231 Foreign language placement testing will be offered throughout STAR for the languages of French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish and Heritage Spanish. The student s University account will be assessed at a rate of $35 for each foreign language placement test taken. Students whose financial aid package includes a federal Pell Grant may take these placement tests at no cost. Exams will vary in length, with the longest being Japanese, which takes approximately minutes. Other exams take approximately minutes. Results will be available at the conclusion of the exam. You must know your PUID number to test. This number can be provided for you in the lab if needed. 10:30 A.M. OR 1:15 P.M. HONORS COLLEGE ADVISING SESSIONS Beering Hall, Room 2291 (June 18-22, June 25-29, July 2-6), Beering Hall, Room 1268 (July 9-13) Incoming Honors College students will meet with honors advisors to gain an overview of the Honors College curriculum, the role of honors advisors, leadership and involvement opportunities, and much more. This engaging session will create excitement around the Honors College first-year experience. Students will also learn how to enroll in the required first-year seminar, HONR

COLLEGE OF SCIENCE DIVERSITY OFFICE (MULTICULTURAL SCIENCE PROGRAMS AND WOMEN IN SCIENCE PROGRAMS) Class of 1950 Lecture Hall, Room 125 The Science Diversity Offce staff will welcome students and families to learn about various programs to aid in the retention, growth and advocacy of students underrepresented by gender or race within the College of Science. 10:30 A.M.-3:15 P.M. UNIVERSITY RESIDENCES TOURS Wiley Residence Hall Tour a residence hall and see a student room at Wiley Hall, located on Martin Jischke Drive across the street from the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center. This will be a student-led tour that will last about 10 minutes.* Please enter at the west front entrance of Wiley Hall (facing Wiley Dining Court). This is the only location for STAR guests to view a residence hall. * Last tour begins at 3 p.m. 10:30 A.M.-3:15 P.M. PURDUE PROMISE Krach Leadership Center, Fourth Floor Purdue Promise scholarship recipients are required to meet with Student Success Programs coaches to discuss scholarship requirements and sign their Purdue Promise scholarship agreement. 10:30 A.M.-3:15 P.M. DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER Young Hall, Eighth Floor The DRC will be hosting an informational welcome room during STAR. Please contact the DRC to schedule an appointment if you anticipate experiencing barriers related to: n Physical access (stairs, desks, chairs, walking distances) n Course materials (audio version, Braille, large font) n Timing of classes (start time, end time, breaks, longer travel time) The DRC needs to meet with you to establish accommodations related to the above needs prior to class assignments. AND 1:30 P.M. COM 114 TESTING Beering Hall, Room 1242 COM 114 is a basic presentational course that fulfills the University s core oral communication credit. Credit is awarded to students who successfully pass a written exam and deliver an oral presentation. For specific requirements and a study guide, visit cla.purdue.edu/ communication/undergraduate/com_114.html. The exam fee is $35. Pell-eligible students will receive a waiver.
