The 18-hole, par-70 course measuring 7,166 yards from the championship tees has received a major redesign offering a new layout, designed to be challenging for professional golfers as well as inviting to recreational players. Originally designed in 1982 by Jay Morrish, with player consultants Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw, the course was redesigned in 2009 by former PGA TOUR and current Champions Tour player D.A. Weibring and his partner architect Steve Wolfard. PGA TOUR player consultants were Harrison Frazar and J.J. Henry. Miller, PhD, MBA, Department of Health Policy and Management, School of Rural Public Health, Texas A&M Health Science Center 9:50 a.m. 10:00 a.m. Break Accountable care organizations (ACOs) are touted as a way to curb rising costs and improve quality. However, many questions remain unanswered about ACOs. How do ACOs relate to medical homes or other means of coordinating care? What are options for bundled payment for hospitals, physicians and other providers of care? Do ACOs even make sense in a rural setting? How can providers in rural areas attain ACO features such as collaboration with public health and health-related community organizations, exceptional information technology, accurate and open measurement and reporting of quality and financial information, and appropriate payment mechanisms and incentives? This session examines current ACO criteria and organizational implications. Opportunities and limitations for ACOs in rural settings are identified along with strategies to improve an organization s positioning. 10:00 a.m. Accountable Care Organizations Fact or Fantasy? Dan Mulholland, JD, Senior Partner, Horty, Springer & Mattern Everyone in the healthcare field wants to learn about ACOs. Some actually claim to be ACOs and others want to be one when they grow up. Consulting and law firms will charge hundreds of thousands of dollars to get you ready for ACOs, but the reality is that no one really knows what ACOs are. This session will explain just what the law says about ACOs, discuss the questions that remain unanswered about them, and warn hospitals about jumping the gun. 11:30 a.m. Lunch (provided) (Gallery) 1:45 p.m. Dallas Cowboys VIP Guided Stadium Tours Sponsored by Merritt Hawkins & Staff Care, Inc. This 1 hour and 30 minute, ultimate stadium tour experience will walk you through the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The tour will begin in the Pro Shop and move through the Main Club which includes a view of a private suite, the radio and print media boxes, the Cotton Bowl offices, the Dr. Pepper Star Bar and the Ford Motor Company Fountain. The tour will then go down to the event level where you will see the field, the Miller Lite Club, the post-game interview room and both the Cowboys locker room and the Cheerleaders locker room. The tour will end in the Cowboys Stadium Pro Shop where you can pick up your complimentary photo from your time at the stadium. (Registered tour participants will receive additional information, including directions, with registration confirmation.) Montgomery, II, FACHE, President/CEO, White County Medical Center Dr. Lowell Nicholas, Insurance Deputy Commissioner, Arkansas Insurance Department This workshop, presented in a panel discussion format, will focus on regulatory implications related to the health insurance coverage provisions of the Affordable Care Act. The primary topic(s) of discussion will cover perspectives on the effect of each panel member on state and local policies that impact the operations of local hospitals and healthcare organizations (as providers and employers), and how organizations are affected by insurance regulation and its impact on employment trends. This program has been developed and is presented locally by the Arkansas Health Executives Forum and the Arkansas Hospital Association. The American College of Healthcare Executives has awarded 1.5 Category I (ACHE education) credit hours to this program. DRESS CODE Casual attire is encouraged (for guests as well as speakers) for all meetings and social events during the leadership conference. No exceptions! 4
