33 WHHS School Clubs offering Community Service Opportunities Care (Community Assistance Relief Endeavor) Advisor: TBA For students interested in helping people within the community. Purpose: To promote volunteerism and to provide students with the opportunity to become involved with local projects. This club works with the PRIDE Committee. Meeting Time: 1 st Monday of each month in the Library Media Center. PRIDE Committee Advisor: Marilyn Lynch Open to all students. Purpose: Student volunteers striving to brighten our school and community. Focus is on volunteerism and helping others. Special projects include making cards for soldiers and veterans, visiting nursing homes, and supporting the West Haven Community. Special Events: Beautifying our school and volunteering to help others. Meeting Time: 1 st Monday of each month in the Library Media Center. Peer Tutoring Committee Advisor: Jeanne Palmer Please see Ms. Palmer for more information on becoming a peer tutor. Volunteen Advisor: Elizabeth Bruneau Open to all students. Purpose: To serve the high school and greater West Haven Community by providing volunteer services in various capacities. Meeting Time: Tuesdays or Wednesdays immediately after school in Room E129. Grass Roots Action Club Advisor: Liam Leapley Open to all environmentally conscious individuals. Purpose: A club for those who are concerned with the environment and the West Haven community. The club seeks to educate the general public regarding local environments. The club s Mission Statement is: PROTECT, RECYCLE, IMPROVE, AND DEDICATION TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
