2 Greetings from your Governor Well January didn't hang around long and February is here. I would like to thank the Moose Riders on a great job once again. The Chili Cook Off was a big success as well as all they do around the lodge. 1st place winner in the Chili Cook Off went to Jerry Sanger, 2nd place to Bob Paynter, who will be representing the lodge at the Annual Road Runners Chili Cook Off at Shuckers on Saturday February 6 th for the Benefit of Big Bend Hospice, and 3 rd place went to Clark Metcalf.. A big thanks also goes out to Clark for the great job he did putting in our new tile floor in the men s bathroom. Please come out and support Big Bend Hospice at the Road Runners Chili Cook Off at Shuckers. On March 12 th we have our Supreme Governor visiting our Lodge. We have a lot going on in the planning stage and more information will follow soon. I can assure you, with Pat Browder, Rita Stevens and the rest of the Higher Degree involved, you'll want to be there. Also, our Lodge will be hosting a regional men s pool tournament the 1st weekend in April. Wayne Bryan (who by the way won the Pool Tournament on Saturday and also won the Traveling Trophy Sunday at the Moose Legion Celebration in Panama City), Billy Shelfer, Larry Durrance and a host of our other members will be shooting and defending our honor. Looking forward to a big win. Then on April 8th 9th and 10 th, our Lodge will be hosting the Moose Legion Celebration. Donna will be preparing her famous crab stuffed grouper on Saturday night. That, right there, makes it all worthwhile in coming out and joining us. So as you can see, we have a lot going on. Please plan to attend these events and support your lodge. Once again, thank you to all our volunteers who we couldn't get by without. Our lodge is very close to meeting our membership goal. Remember, if you sponsor 5 LOOM members between May 1st last year and April 30th this year, your dues are paid for the next year. But more importantly, our lodge, with all we do, will not receive the Premier Award unless we reach our membership goal of having one more member at the end of our fiscal year, April 30, than we had at the beginning of the fiscal year, May 1. So please bring a friend, a neighbor or coworker and have them visit our great Lodge and get them signed up. Thank You, Carl Crayton 8-Ball Pool Tournaments are BACK! Every Wednesday at 7:30 See Facebook for more details. The GROUP name is Pool Tournaments are BACK at the Moose!

7 From the Senior Regent: February already?! Time sure flies when you re having fun! This month begins our election process for the new 2016 WOTM Board of Officers. If you would like to join the leadership team, please provide a written note to any nominating committee member with your name, phone number, and the position in which you are interested in holding. The nominating committee members are listed below. The Children s Room is open for business! Congratulations to Sports & Activities Chairman Tina Crayton, who with her committee, took on the remodeling task in honor of Stephen Crayton, who we lost last year to cancer. You may have heard that the Moose build a defending circle around its members and that we help one another in times of need. Moose also give back to their community. This project helps demonstrate the true meaning of being a Moose member. BIG THANKS to Tina and her committee. Planning ahead: the registration information for the "Florida Bermuda Moose Association Mid-Year Conference" in Orlando on April 14-17, 2016 will be published soon. Our chapter committee has been formed and we are preparing to serve as hostess for Florida's Deputy Grand Regent Dawn Mackland. I hope to see plenty of co-workers and LOOM members there. This month we will be giving away a WINTER BASKET with a hand-made afghan and winter-related items at the traditional Valentine s Party on Feb 12 th. See Ann Stevens for your tickets! Starting on Feb. 26 th, we ll be selling tickets for an FSU Seminole YETI cooler! That s right. Somebody s gonna GETTI a YETI drawing on March 11th! Calling all Crafters! Calling all Dancers!
