2 Message from the Chair What have we been up to in the section over the last year? Membership counts remain stable. Financially we continue to be sound We helped the Montana ASQ members do a training day by working with the Division Chair to secure guaranteed payback funds from HQ We continue to participate with INLC professional society collective and pass on the information about meetings We held three meetings and participated in several with the INLC Meeting attendance is low, we wish it higher but it is not out of ordinary We expanded our presence in the higher ed. student face and found a representative to head this activity for the section Paul A. We found a membership chair to lead this element Steve H. The certification chair, Janet M., resigned after 8 years of service, and we found new chair Kristi P. Paul Wong has agreed to be the chair elect, Gary K. will become treasurer, and June Y. the newsletter editor. We continue to meet all the ASQ section requirements We have submitted the QMP plan for the operation of the section for On another note, those who are continue to look for work. Continue! Over the last six months many of my friends and associates continue to eventually find employment. Not in roles they expected, and maybe not in companies they expected. The waiting is the hardest, from six months to a year typically. Apply for the hardship membership with ASQ and continue networking. Godspeed in your searches. Respectively yours, Greg Paulitz Spokane section ASQ chair 2010/2011
