He holds the distinguished honor of being the first nationally recognized radio talk show personality who is also a combat veteran from the current war. Boone began writing his Iraq War-inspired autobiographical account of what he experienced, Voodoo in Sadr City, during his combat tour in Iraq, and completed it during his two-year recovery from wartime injuries at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In 2010, Boone founded the National Warfighter Symposium to bring much needed attention to Warfighter issues, such as postcombat life particularly the alarming rates of Warfighter suicide and homelessness. In 2011, his show Tipping Point with Boone Cutler was launched, providing a weekly platform for Boone s raw Paratrooper, no-holds-barred style. The show quickly becoming a hit over the air waves and online, with an audience of fellow Warfighters and curious mainstream American listeners. America currently loses at least 23 Warfighters (22 veterans + 1 active duty) to suicide every single day. This is a number that Boone has made his mission to combat with his creation of The Spartan Pledge. Warfighters promise not to take their own lives, and instead vow to find a new mission to help one another
9 Mike Ayala SPI ADVANCED CARBINE ACCURACY The Advanced Carbine Performance Accuracy Course teaches the officer to deliver precision fire to selective threats by improving his/her fundamentals, speed and accuracy. One differentiator of this course is the presentation of precise applications and techniques that have been combat tested around the world by our team of instructors who are Special Operations Forces (SOF) veterans. The end state is an operator that is confident in controlling his/her carbine. The officer will be trained on proper advanced fundamental techniques, advanced carry and employment applications, individual enhancement concepts, environmental assessment and structural application of modified enforcement techniques, multi lateral opposing threats and engagement methodology, rapid threat assessment and threat acquisition and reduction of area threat atmospherics in conjunction of weapon employment of speed and accuracy. AR-15/M16/M4 ARMORER Greg Sullivan Defensive Edge SLR15 Rifles Law Enforcement Agencies are deploying or are in the process of issuing carbine rifles to Field Supervisors, Field Officers, and Tactical Units. With that comes the need of having qualified Armorers or Rangemasters to service and maintain these weapons on a regular basis. This course covers all M16/AR15 type carbine weapons systems made and their variants. Armorers will be certified in the proper maintenance, care, and repair of these weapons systems, including semi-auto and select-fire trigger systems. This program follows the Manufacturer s guidelines and is taught by FBI and NRA Certified Instructors. Bring a rifle to work on. Students need to supply their own rifle, as this gets them familiar with their own personal configuration and modifications, plus this will allow time for a thorough cleaning and inspection, along with gauging for wear. You are welcome to bring more than one rifle. We will only provide rifles with prior arrangements, basically so we know how many to bring. ANATOMY OF FORCE INCIDENTS John Bostain Command Presence Few topics in law enforcement cause more public scrutiny than use of force. The right to use force carries with it tremendous responsibility for officers sworn to uphold the law. Research reveals that training time dedicated to use of force decision-making is very limited. That s why Anatomy of Force Incidents was created. This course separates myth from reality regarding the perception of force in modern policing. Through case study, exercises, discussion, and video analysis officers learn to make better use of force decisions, understand human factors affecting those decisions, and be better prepared for the aftermath of being involved in a use of force incident. It s time to take a bold new look at use of force training. Notebook and pen/pencil. CANINE S.K.I.D.D.S./CATS Brad Smith Canine Tactical Operations For those that have a misconception as to how beneficial K9 s can be to a SWAT operation or during a highrisk patrol operation this class is for you. We encourage all patrol officers, military, SWAT and supervisors to attend this class. You will learn how to utilize your dog to find the suspect quicker, yet safer, while maintaining your tactical advantage and officer safety. We will discuss what to look for during your selection of a Tactical Patrol dog or SWAT dog as well as the handler. Learn how a properly trained patrol dog and the handler can be utilized during a in a high-risk patrol deployment or SWAT operation when it comes to tracking, barricaded suspects, approaches, entries, blind corners, room clearing, hallways, stairs, attics, crawl spaces, vehicle assaults, arrest techniques and even in a gas environment. 10 CNT COMING SOON Equipment GROWING COURAGE: LEADERSHIP IN TIMES OF CRISIS (Con t) This training explores the foundational aspects of training for emergency response and introduces the findings of modern neuroscience to explain how a more selffocused approach to handling stress has far reaching applicability to police operations. Through a series of cases studies and experiential activities we will take a journey through leadership skills and attributes that will help us become the leaders our organizations need. Notebook and pen/pencil. EDGED WEAPONS TACTICS FOR LE BK Blankchtein Masada Tactical, LLC Most officers carry some sort of rescue tool on them, doubling as a last ditch defensive tool if and when the need arises. Unfortunately, few are the agencies that actually train their officers in proper defensive skills using a blade, or the legal aspect of using this tool for defensive purposes. This eight-hour class covers several lessons, including: legal aspects relating to UOF and using a blade, choosing a blade for police duties, defensive skills using a knife, and force-on-force and additional stress drills. GROWING COURAGE: LEADERSHIP IN TIMES OF CRISIS Roy Bethge The Virtus Group LAW ENFORCEMENT PROTECTIVE OPERATIONS Bryan Hillis Alexander Global Strategies AGS will be conducting a two (2) day Law Enforcement Protective Operations (LEPO) familiarization course. This course is a small excerpt from our five (5) day LEPO training program. Day one (1) of training students will be exposed to protective walking formations, and discuss each of the member s responsibilities. Along with formations, we will discuss arrivals and departures with members of the formation and a principal. Training day two (2) will consist of attack on principal (AOP) concepts which will culminate in to a live fire FTX. At the end of day two (2), students will put both training days together and conduct a final FTX using all of the protection concepts that were presented. Note Taking Materials, Jacket/Cover Garment, Handgun, Minimum of 3 handgun magazines, Handgun Ammunition (250 rounds), Range Clothing, Ear/Eye Protection The law enforcement profession is in crisis. Over the past two years law enforcement activities have been viewed under a microscope like never before. Our ability to lead organizations, teams, people and ourselves hold the key to adapting, growing and overcoming this crisis. Emergency operations is a time of high stress. Contrary to popular belief, the most effective way to train for functioning in high stress situations is not in simulated stress environments
11 LAPD This course covers the latest tactics taught to LAPD patrol officers for reacting to a potential terrorist attack involving multiple suspects. The principals taught involve fire and maneuver for exterior movement to close with and stop a suspect s action or to safely approach the exterior of a building where the threat is inside. Once inside a structure, the Immediate Action tactics are combined fire and maneuver principles. MACTAC Multiple Assault Counter-Terrorism Action Capabilities REALITY PISTOL COMBATIVES Chris Periatt Michigan Tactical Officers Association This course is a high intensity reality based close quarter course that intertwines the unarmed combatives arena with the firearms world. The RPC course is a reallife, reality based course; no theory will be presented, or interjected. The RPC will introduce the students to tactics that work under any real-life street condition and can be applied by any person, no matter size, shape, or gender. Students will be expected to be in good physical condition and injury free. 350 rounds pistol ammo per student, groin protection, body armor, duty gear, 3 mags per student for pistols. NFDD INSTRUCTOR Chuck Martin Safariland Training Group This instructor-level training course provides the student detailed information involved in the use of all types and forms of Diversionary or Distraction Device munitions. The 8-hour course covers all aspects involved in the selection, preparation, deployment, storage, and legal ramifications regarding the use of all such devices. The student will acquire specific information in Defense Technology Distraction Device models, including reloadable and non-reloadable hand-deployed munitions, command initiated products, fuel air munitions, less lethal grenades, and be prepared with the skills to return to their agency and provide in-service training. Eyes, Ears, Body Armor, Gloves RAID PLANNING SINGLE OFFICER RESPONSE TO ACTIVE SHOOTER Jim Hardman Ohio Tactical Offiicers Association The average active threat is over in under three minutes. the average response time for officers to arrive on scene and form a team and ingress into the structure is three to five minutes. this is too long!!! the current threat of terrorism can allow terrorists time to fortify and take hostages. a single well trained officer responding with his knowledge and equipment can stop the active threat and/or delay the terrorist acts. the tactics and principles presented in this class will give your responding officer the skills and knowledge needed to win the fight!! Coming Soon
12 Jim Gilliland Shadow 6 Consulting SNIPER COMING SOON SUPERVISING PATROL CRITICAL INCIDENTS Fred Farris NTOA STARTLE RESPONSE TO AN AMBUSH TBA Safariland Training Group Designed to increase your awareness, skills and abilities in dealing with an unanticipated deadly threat at close range, this course will provide you with inoculation against the affects of stress by providing you an opportunity to train and learn through experience. This course also includes case studies, emotional reactions, statistics and behavior analyses. The classroom portion of the class will deal with critical stress and the physiological effects associated with such an event as well as the techniques for mitigating those effects. Officers will then move to the range where they will perform core shooting skills using Airsoft training weapons. Officers will then begin facing armed adversaries and applying the skills they brought with them from the square range using Airsoft pistols. They must be able to shoot, move and communicate under stress to win. From the static range officers will then move into scenarios facing suspects (Instructors) and apply their training in both shoot and no shoot situations. High stress causes physical skills to drop dramatically and training in a simulated, realistic environment provides inoculation through mental and physical preparation to the effects of an unanticipated, deadly threat at close range. This 16-hour course is designed to provide patrol supervisors with the information and tools needed to manage a critical incident prior to the arrival of SWAT. Legal issues, scene management and small team tactics can give the patrol supervisor the tools needed to manage a critical incident scene as well as respond to unfolding events prior to the arrival of SWAT. Note taking

Jonas Polson Shooter Performance Institute Shooter Performance Institute's Vehicular Engagement Course (VEC) is a (2) day, (20) hour course. This Course is tailored to 1 day 8 hours for GTOA Conference. VEC teaches the officer to deliver precision fire procedures to selective threats by improving his/her fundamentals, speed and accuracy during vehicular platform. One differentiator of this course is the presentation of precise methods that have been tested and executed worldwide. The end state is an officer that is capable of fighting in or around vehicles in open urban engagements. The officer will be trained on vehicle engagement methodologies, advanced shooting positions, multiple target acquisition, ballistic effects on glass and vehicle body penetration, vehicular engagement and counterengagement techniques: near/far side contact from front/side/rear, vehicle position maneuver and egress techniques: single to two man movement, weapon malfunction drills, and disabled shooter techniques.
