24 Activities available Fieldcraft Camps Run over weekends, Friday - Sunday. Great opportunity to practice fieldcraft skills learned and have fun. Survival Camps Run over weekends, Friday - Sunday. Great opportunity to practice survival skills learned and have even more fun.

25 Activities available Powered Flying Camps Conducted usually over a weekend once per year, giving cadets the opportunity to fly in a Cessna 152 (2 seater) or 172 (4 seater). Supported by Royal Aero Club of WA. Pilot Experience (PEX) flights are one cadets with one qualified instructor (1 one 1) and are available to all cadets once during their career. Cadet Air Experience (CAE) flights are three cadets and one qualified instructor. Cost of CAE flights are between $85 and $120 to cover fuel and cost of the instructor.

26 Activities available Gliding Camps Conducted usually over a weekend once per year, giving cadets the opportunity to fly in glider with a qualified instructor.

30 Activities available General Service Training Camp (GST) Held at RAAF Pearce twice a year. Run for 5-8 days during the Easter and Spring holidays. Provide introduction to the AAFC as well as back stage access to many of the roles within the Australian Air Force. Includes a tour of the tower, safety training, air craft maintenance areas and active units based there.

31 Activities available Promotional Course Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Course (July) JNCO or sometimes just JN Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Course (January) SNCO or just SN More on these shortly

32 Activities available Elementary Flight Training Course (EFTC) 8 to 9 days consisting of about 10 hours of flying with extensive training in between lessons. Cost around $1700 for powered and $1200 for gliding, limited sponsorship available for qualifying cadets. Cadets can achieve Solo-flight at the end of the camp. Age (15 ¾) for powered and Age (14 ¾) for gliding medical restrictions apply on this activity.

35 Activities available International Air Cadet Exchange - Exchange tour to another country with cadets from around the world. Tours usually include local areas of interest as well as military and aviation visits. - Includes: UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, South Korea, USA, Canada and Hong Kong - Cost is only for flights, uniform and insurance

46 Behavioural Standards For the purposes of the Code of Conduct a person involved in the Australian Air Force Cadets is on duty when: otherwise representing himself or herself in a public forum (including electronic media) to be a member of a Cadet force, whether or not authorised to do so

49 Haircuts (Males) Neatly trimmed and in a conservative style Radical styles such as stepped haircuts and styles which have an uncombed appearance are not permitted The hair is to be gradually tapered to the neckline and is not to cover, touch or overhang the ears or collar. Personnel may choose to shave their head and if so, are to shave the entire scalp. Razored lines into the scalp such as tramlines, patterns or shapes are not permitted.

50 Haircuts (Males) Only conservative and natural tones of artificial hair colours are permitted The acceptability of hair styles is to be based on neatness, cleanliness and general appearance when wearing uniform Sideburns are not to extend below the level where the ear lobe joins the head

53 Haircuts (Females) DPU Females with shoulder length hair may wear their hair in a pony-tail/braid. Hair longer than shoulder length is to be plaited in a ponytail/braid. Pony-tails/plaits/braids are not to interfere with the correct wearing of headdress.
