2 MARINE CORPS JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS Our mission is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. Be enrolled in and attending a regular course of instruction grade 9 through 12 at the school hosting the unit. Be physically qualified to participate fully in the physical education program of the host school. Comply with specified personal grooming standards. Common sense and good judgment apply to the attainment of these standards. Standards will not be relaxed so as to reflect disgrace on the United States Marine Corps. Be selected by the MCJROTC instructor with the approval of the school principal or his/her representative. Maintain acceptable standards of academic achievement and an academic standing that warrants at least normal progression leading to graduation. Maintain acceptable standards of conduct.

4 CURRICULUM PROGRESSION Year First (LE-I) Second (LE-II) Third (LE-III) Fourth (LE-IV) Leadership Education Provides cadets with an growth and responsibility. Here the foundation of military structure and tradition is taught and demanded. Expanding on LE-1 leadership introduction to leadership and citizenship exposing them to personal ship and citizenship classes, students receive instruction in General Military Subjects with more structure and tradition than previously offered. The civilian marksmanship package and land navigation training with the map and compass in introduced. This year also provides additional learning experiences in personal growth and responsibility, as well as citizenship. Cadets begin to use leadership training as they assume positions of increased authority and responsibility. Detailed instruction on personal finances is presented to include preparation for life beyond high school. Cadets bring together previous learning experiences in the MCJROTC program. Senior cadets will conduct formations and inspections, and even supervise certain training events with younger cadets while continuing to be challenged academically with requirements for research projects and independent studies and progress reports.

Program centers on leadership development and our methods of discipline is adhered through the military model. HQMC is overall responsible for the funding of any and all additional requirements. Reinforcing decorum, manners, dignity and mutual respect amongst student/faculty interactions. School s grooming standards are reinforced through formal weekly uniform inspections and daily cursory visual inspections. Multifaceted, holistic approach that focuses on imbuing the leadership traits and the processing of leadership principles for the cadets in their daily personal and professional lives. Skillsets learned in JROTC transcend or as applicable to every other discipline that students are learning throughout their lifetime.
