1 National Seminar On Role and Responsibility of Public Library in Rural Development (NSRRPLRD2014) 1 st and 2 nd March 2014 (Saturday and Sunday) From 10:00 am to 05:00 pm Organized by Sanatan Sewa Samiti, Amethi, (UP) In association with Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (Ministry of culture, Govt. of India) At Venue: Saraswati Vidhya Mandir Inter College, Keshav Nagar, Amethi (UP) About the Sanatan Sewa Samiti, Amethi:- Sanatan Sewa Samiti, Amethi was founded on 9 th April 2001 and registered under the societies act 21 of 1860; its registration number is 2/ After adopting a constitution and providing rules and regulations for conducting its affairs, it got registered in April 2001.the role of the society to promote literacy, cultural and other social activities by awareness programs, Adult education classes, social awareness camp, health camp, Lectures, essay competition, exhibition, symposiums, cultural programs, press conference, workshops and seminars etc. Promotion of library information science education and improvement in the training of libraries to promote the establishment of public libraries and information centers Particular in rural areas of India. About the Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation:- RRRLF is a central autonomous organization established and fully financed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. RRRLF is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, It is the nodal agency of the Government of India to support public library services and systems and promote public library movement in the country commensurate with the objectives as embodied in its Memorandum of Association. The supreme policy-making body of RRRLF is called the Foundation. About the Seminar:- The topic of seminar the Role and Responsibility of Public Library in Development of Rural Areas is quite relevant in today s context. The seminar will provide a platform for librarians, information professionals, and IT intellectuals to share their ideas in the field of recent activities and applications in public Library and

2 Information Services by eminent speakers from all over India in the form of research papers, key note address, panel discussions and so on. Seminar objective The most important objective of this event is to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and skills relevant to Information professionals To highlight the Role and Responsibility of Public Library in Development of Rural Areas. To bring together the library professionals and students at a common platform. To ensure that information professionals are aware of the latest developments in the public library and information field. To create awareness among the library and information science professionals on the latest developments in the library and information services. To explore the emerging technologies for delivering quality and value added services. To promote best practices in the field of public libraries and information centers To highlight Utilization of public library act for development of rural area To assess new applications of new technologies in the modern information era. To share the experience of librarians for applying IT in their public libraries. To highlight the responsibility of public libraries in the service to society. A review panel will review the papers based on originality of the work, quality and relevance to the main topic of the seminar. The papers should be organized so as to accommodate abstract, introduction, objective, methodology, results obtained and references. Peer reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the seminar proceedings. Full Paper (not more than 2000 words) carrying the abstract, Title, Name (s), Affiliations, address, necessary references should be submitted by 18th February 2013 to the Organizing Secretary, Sanatan Sewa Sammiti, Amethi The text should be typed in Times New Roman font, 12 points and single-spaced. Authors are encouraged to send the electronic version at address: nsrrpldra2014@gmail.com or Acceptance of paper will be notified on 20th February, 2014 through . All the accepted full papers will be published in the seminar proceedings. All the participants

3 are requested to send the Registration form duly filled along with the requisite fee applicable latest by 25th February, Paper Submission Guidelines for Authors:- Authors are requested to follow the guidelines given below The paper will be accepted in both medium (either in English or in Hindi) Name of author s their address, , phone numbers should clearly be mentioned on the paper. Paper should be typed in English on A-4 size paper using single space with one inch margin on each side. The text should be typed in 12pt size using Times New Roman Font. Text should be justified on both ends and start with a title followed by Author s, Abstract, Keywords, main text, Reference and appendices. Title should be descriptive and concise and should not exceed 50 characters. Abstract should not exceed 200 characters. Main text (without the author details) should be concise and total number of pages not exceeding six including references, appendix, table and figures. References should be cited in the text and should be listed in alphabetical order of the first author s surname. At least one of the authors must pre-register for Conference. The manuscript of the article should be ( in doc format) sent to : nsrrpldra2014@gmail.com Note: All paper submission should be forwarded electronically to the seminar Organizing Secretary as MS Word File with copies to: nsrrpldra2014@gmail.com. The papers should strictly follow the submission guidelines.
