4 Each year local PTA units may give a Golden Acorn Awards to people who have given exemplary volunteer service to children and youth in Marysville school community. The Golden Acorn is very special and is given for continued and dedicated service. The Golden Acorn Award is an excellent way to honor an individual who meets this criterion. When the Golden Acorn Award is presented, the individual is given a hand-painted gold pin in the shape of an acorn, and a special certificate. We also contribute $65.00 in the person s name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Foundation.
