For the school event calendar, please visit our website at For the school sports calendar, including results, please visit our website at NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS CCHS Sadie Hawkins Dance: Don t forget that Friday is the last day to buy tickets to the Sadie Hawkins Dance! The dance will be held in the gym this Saturday, March 16 th from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. o Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased through the online store until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15th. Click here to purchase tickets. Tickets will not be sold at the door and activity cards will not be accepted. o Guest forms are at the front desk and must be filled out and turned in to Mr. Belk by Thursday, March 14 th. Any guest from another school needs to be at least a high school freshman. CCHS Parents: The Student Council needs your help with the Sadie Hawkins Dance! GENERAL CURRENT ANNOUNCEMENTS Juniors and Junior Parents: Herff Jones will be at CCHS during lunches on Thursday, March 14 th, so that juniors may order their class rings. Please also remember that Herff Jones is hosting a parent night at CCHS on Wednesday, March 13 th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Parents, friends of CCHS, clubs, departments, and classes are cordially invited to support our students in the musical with well-wishes and congratulations, and also to advertise businesses in the musical program. The advertisement sales for this year s musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, are now available on the school store or click here. Once you have purchased your desired advertisement size, please complete the 2019 Playbill Advertisement Survey by clicking on the link All information must be purchased and completed by Wednesday, March 20th. The safety of our faculty, staff, and students is of the utmost importance to us, and March has been designated as Safety Month at CCHS. A committee of administrators and faculty has developed homeroom activities for Safety Month, focusing on one area of safety each week. Additionally, there will be safety drills conducted throughout the month. It has been a huge

Fit to Fight is offering CCHS faculty, staff, and parents the opportunity to participate in their Active Killer Defense Training on Saturday, March 30 th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at 9129 Monroe Road. Please see the flyer at the end of the announcements which provides information on how to receive a discounted rate for the program Re-Enrollment Information: Looking for the registration packet that usually comes in the mail this time of year? Look no further because reenrollment for the next school year will be ONLINE and available on Friday, March 15 th. Your family will be receiving an on Friday, March 15 th, from School Admin (the online admissions and enrollment program). If you do not receive an , please check your spam or junk before contacting the MACS Business Office. You will be asked to create a portal account and complete the enrollment process electronically. The deadline to complete the process will be April 15 th. CLASS of 2019 NEWS Scholarships Available to Graduating Seniors: The nomination and application period is now open for CCHS scholarships for graduating seniors. These scholarships are sponsored by the CCHS Foundation and the CCHS Alumni Association. Please refer to each scholarship for the requirements, qualifications, and process for nomination or application. Please note that information about the submission process for the STEM, Service, and Dottie Tippett awards has been recently updated. All completed application and nomination forms should be turned into the guidance office. Winners of all scholarships will be announced at the Senior Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 29 th at St. Matthew Catholic Church. o Kara Ann Kloiber Make a Difference Award: This scholarship recognizes the student who consistently makes a difference in our school and community. It is awarded to a graduating senior who has exemplified and contributed to Charlotte Catholic s spirit of community, inclusiveness, charity, and service. Any member of the senior class, the CCHS faculty, or CCHS staff may nominate a student in the senior class. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Nominations are due by March 31 st. All graduating seniors, whether legacy students or not, are invited to apply, and two scholarships are awarded one to any graduating senior and one to a senior who is a legacy student. The description for both scholarships may be found here, and the application is located at the bottom of the page: Completed applications are due by April 5 th. o Michael Sullivan Scholarship: Seniors may apply for this award, which was established to honor the memory of Michael Sullivan 03, who passed away in 2010 at the age of 24. This scholarship recognizes a senior who has shown exemplary personal outreach to classmates and/or peers in the community, as well as having demonstrated a very strong work ethic. Students who have worked part-time jobs (minimum of 8 hours/week while in high school) are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is April 5 th. Click here and scroll down toward the bottom of the page for the description and application: o Robb Pugh Scholarship Awards: The CCHS Alumni Association assists the St. Gabriel Men s Club in sponsoring these two scholarships, which are awarded each year to one male and one female graduating senior based on faith, community service, and need. The scholarships are given in memory of Robb Pugh, a much-loved member of the St. Gabriel Men's Club whose spirit of selfless service is honored through this award. Nominations for these scholarships are made by CCHS faculty and guidance counselors. Selfnominations will not be accepted. 6 CAMPUS MINISTRY Freshmen and Sophomore Cougar Caritas: As Catholics and Christians, we are called to imitate our Lord by joyfully serving others with our time, our treasure, and our talents. One way we do this is by taking part in Cougar Caritas, a cavalcade of service opportunities during school hours in our community. The service day for the freshman and sophomore classes is Tuesday, March 26 th. o Each student will sign up for the service project of his or her choice through Sign-up Genius a week before the project. Details for each project will be located on the Sign-up Genius. Campus Ministry will notify students when projects are available for sign-up. o Bus transportation will be arranged. o There will be no formal classes for freshman and sophomores on this day, as teachers also will participate in Cougar Caritas. o We are in need of several parents to assist our faculty and help chaperone our students. Please MJ Dawson in Campus Ministry if you can help or with any questions. COUNSELING College Visits: Colleges and universities visit the CCHS campus throughout the year to meet with our students, provide them with information, and answer their questions. College visits are open to CCHS juniors and seniors. Most college visits will take place in the Counseling College Center, and one of our counselors is in attendance as well. The full list of college visits can be found on Naviance. Every Thursday, the visits scheduled for the following week will be listed in the Daily Announcements. Students interested in attending a college visit should go to Naviance and print the confirmation page, which serves as the pass to attend. 7 CCHS ATHLETICS Fellowship Friday Fish Fry: The CCHSAA is hosting an evening of fellowship and fun at Charlotte Catholic on Friday, March 15 th from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Please join the Athletic Association in the Cafeteria as we celebrate our fantastic Cougar community! o Online pre-ordering of meals is encouraged! Click here to order. o Adult plates (two 4 oz. filets, fries, slaw, and hushpuppies) are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. o Kids plates (one 4 oz. filet, fries, slaw, and hushpuppies) are $5. o Cheese pizza is available for $2 per slice. o Takeout boxes will be available. o The Mountain Biking Team will have baked goods available for sale for dessert. Please be sure to bring cash! o The Spirit Store will be open in the stadium during the Fish Fry. o If you d like to help with the Fish Fry, please click here to sign up! Third Annual CCHSAA Women s Tennis Tournament: Save the date and plan to join us on Monday, April 1 st from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Park Crossing Recreation Club for round robin play and a luncheon benefitting all of our student-athletes. CCHS PTO Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week: Charlotte Catholic s Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week will be held March 25-March 29. We are blessed to have an extraordinary team of teachers, administrators, and staff who work countless hours to make the Catholic school experience meaningful both spiritually and academically for our students.
