2 What is the GoPrivate Guide? An independent guide for the uninsured patient who is considering paying for private treatment. The Guide is distributed in print form via 6,000 GP practices, covering 36 million of the population, by and via the web. It is a magazine-style guide, which stands out in GP waiting areas. Rationale In response to lengthening NHS waiting lists and the escalating cost of private medical insurance, more people than ever are looking for affordable options for private treatment. Many individuals have abandoned PMI due to escalating costs, and are considering self-pay or fixed price surgery. According to a GfK/NOP survey on behalf of the Competition Commission: 19% of private hospital patients paid in full themselves, with an average cost of treatment of 5,557; 2% paid fully themselves despite having PMI; and 29% paid partly via PMI and partly themselves. The recent Private Healthcare UK Self-Pay Market Study, published by Intuition Intelligence, demonstrated an increasing focus on self-pay among healthcare providers: 48% of respondents said the number of self-pay patients had increased by at least 5% in the last year; while 90% expect self-pay to increase over the next three years. According to LaingBuisson, the self-pay market (including cosmetic surgery) now accounts for nearly 900 million of revenues, a growth of 9% on the prior year and a significant growth trajectory from the 527 million reported in 2013.

Profile what you have to offer across a range of services A healthcare provider may wish to promote their expertise and suitability for patients across a broad range of services. Your content may be comprised of an advert, advertorial or a combination of the two.
8 Getting your message across The Guide also offers half page, quarter page and directory listings for hospitals and clinics who may have a smaller budget but still want to get their message across to the 38 million patients who are looked after by the 6,000 largest primary care practices.
