Business Partnerships Team Building long-term partnerships between business and government to tackle the UK s biggest social and economic challenges
Introducing you to the Business Partnerships Team The Business Partnerships Team sits at the heart of the Government in the Cabinet Office Government Communication Service. We work to build successful, long-term partnerships between business and government to deliver the voice of business into policy development and transformation. Strong and successful partnerships between business and government are crucial in addressing our shared challenges and building a Britain fit for the future. What we do Promote profit & purpose Together, business and government can create positive social change We use our knowledge, network and influence To build long-term partnerships between business and government that tackle the UK s biggest social & economic challenges Support delivery of central policy priorities Strategic relationship management
How we do it The Business Partnerships Team is split into four sectors: Finance & Professional Services Retail, Food & Drink Manufacturing, Construction & Energy Technology & Telecoms Our partnership can support you in: 2. Delivering business expertise into government 1. Navigating government Business Partnerships Team 3. Creating partnerships between your business and the Government to deliver meaningful policy and campaigns 1. Navigating government We can help you to navigate government and connect you to relevant Whitehall teams and projects. 2. Delivering business expertise into government We feed valuable expertise back into government to develop and shape future policy. 3. Creating partnerships between your business and the Government to deliver meaningful policy and campaigns We want to have proactive, engaging partnerships, inspiring you to address societal challenges, support impactful government policy and help deliver strategic campaigns.
The Inclusive Economy Partnership The Inclusive Economy Partnership lies at the heart of the government s agenda for building a stronger economy and fairer society. Championed by leading business and civil society CEOs it brings together companies, charities and the public sector to address major societal challenges facing low-to-middle income families. Drawing on the expertise, networks, resources and enthusiasm of business, civil society and government the Partnership is focused on transforming lives through scaling, improving and creating solutions that tackle these three challenges. A solution could be a product, programme, service or set of principles. Financial Inclusion and Capability Mental Health Transition to Work for Young People This initiative comes at a perfect moment to mobilise a growing movement of purposeful businesses who see themselves as an integral part of society and solving societal challenges as part of their core business. Sacha Romanovitch CEO of Grant Thornton UK LLP & Inclusive Economy Partnership Champions Group Co-Chair
Getting involved Getting involved in the IEP From Spring 2018 the Partnership moves into its next phase. 18 organisations will receive a small grant and the support of the Partnership to scale their solution to one of our three challenges. We will also convene organisations to help in developing a small number of big idea projects focused on delivering transformative change. We want businesses that are passionate about one or more of our three challenges and committed to building an inclusive economy to get involved in this next phase. Sign up to the IEP Newsletter at iep@cabinetoffice.gov.uk to find our more about our plans and how your organisation can get involved in the months ahead.

The Business Partnerships Team has been a great help over recent years, helping us to navigate and engage effectively with government departments on important public policy matters such as the development of digital skills and the creation of employment opportunities for young people. More recently, the development of the Inclusive Economy Partnership serves as a great example of the win-win nature of the relationship.
