1 annual report 2010
2 It s a new kind of math. $12 million schools + 60,000 students + 4,000 teachers and administrators = 1 better state With one $30 million gift from AT&T Oklahoma and the vision of former Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson in 2001, the Oklahoma Educational Technology Trust was created and education was changed for the better. Managed by Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, OETT funds new technology equipment in classrooms and provides specialized professional development for teachers. Long gone are the days of big computer labs and overhead projectors. Students in OETT schools have learning in the palms of their hands...literally. Technology may be getting smaller but the opportunity to use it for learning is bigger than ever. Personal. Real. Fun. That s how to describe learning...if you re at an OETT school.
3
4 phase I leadership training To help administrators and teachers better understand what is necessary for school and student success, OETT contracts with the K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal at the University of Oklahoma. Participants learn about IDEALS for Student Achievement and how they relate to technology use in the classroom. phase II granting process Grove Valley Elementary School, Deer Creek Schools and districts whose superintendents and/or administrators have completed Phase I are eligible to apply for OETT grants. Phase II grants provide new technology equipment, professional development, and staff release time. Schools are selected through a blind selection process by grant review teams representing the technology and education fields as well as the overall community. sustaining phase II grants Sustaining Phase II grants provide additional funding for equipment upgrades, repair/ replacement, and ongoing professional development needs to a limited number of past OETT grant schools.
