Needs We are a unique organization with the resources and partnerships to make a big difference to Oklahomans. 3 CEO/Executive Director Statement With programs for public education, public wellness, and public charity, nearly every Oklahoman has been exposed to or benefited from a program of the Masonic Fraternity. Board Chair Statement First and foremost, we feel a special responsibility to care for our members when age, illness, or disaster has given them extra burdens to carry we provide assistance through the Promises Matter Grant Program. However, the majority of our giving goes to people who have no connection with the Masonic fraternity at all. We have programs through the Masonic Assistance Program for Seniors, through our partnership with the Oklahoma Association of Area Agencies on Aging; as well as, our partnership with Vizavance (formerly Prevent Blindness Oklahoma) to protect the eyesight of school children through eye screenings. Through our partnership with the State Department of Education we recognize outstanding teachers. And, through our partnership with OETA (Oklahoma Educational Television Authority) we take pride in sponsoring good, family-friendly programs such as Antiques Roadshow, Nature, The Movie Club and This Old House. Through our State Funded Four Year University Endowment program we have established endowments at each state funded university and college in Oklahoma with the goal of making a positive impact on the students and the communities they influence. Last, but not least, is our Matching Funds program which has proven to be the most popular program of the Foundation. Through this program, local Masonic Lodges can raise funds for local charitable or educational needs, and the Foundation will match their funds, literally doubling the effective benevolence of the Lodge. We invite you to browse through to obtain the full story of what the Masonic Charity Foundation does to make our communities a better place through Masonic charity. Area Served Area Served 3

Woody, with the stipulation that the earnings from the bequest are to be used to benefit senior citizens. The Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma has partnered with Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) across the state with funding to assist persons 55 years of age and older with direct services. The donation was allocated between the 11 AAA s that cover the entire state. The AAA s have an in-depth working knowledge of current government programs that are available to the elderly in Oklahoma, as well as where gaps or non-covered needs among Oklahoma s older citizens exist. This funding enables AAAs to assist many callers with resources that previously were not available. Some of the services that are offered are: home repairs, wheel chair ramp construction, transportation, utility assistance, chore services, emergency medication and durable medical equipment. Each year, the Foundation receives thank you notes from individuals whose quality of life was greatly improved by the dentures, hearing aids, and wheelchair ramps provided through this program. Program Success Monitoring Examples of Program Success In 2012, the Foundation's contribution to this program was $720,586. The 2013 contribution budget is $758,722. Matching Funds Program Description The Matching Fund program allows local lodges to substantially increase the impact they have on causes in their local community. Matching Funds can be used to support many community needs: volunteer fire departments, public school projects, scholarships, needs of individuals like medical expenses and charitable home repairs, and community gifts. Each lodge receives an annual budget of $12,500 to put toward causes in their community. Combined with the lodge's fundraising efforts, that enables EACH lodge in Oklahoma the potential to infuse $25,000 of charitable funds into their local community. Budget $2,787, Category Philanthropy, Voluntarism & Grantmaking, General/Other Philanthropy, Voluntarism & Grantmaking, General/Other Strategy Population Served Program Short-term Success Program Long-term Success US General/Unspecified Since inception, the Matching Funds program has consistently grown, with utilization increasing each year. In 2012, the Foundation matched $1,642,219 in funds raised by local lodges, for total contributions to Oklahoma charitable and educational causes of over $3,284,000 in the Matching Funds program alone! The Matching Funds program is particularly successful at addressing the needs of small communities where resources are limited or where other programs do not exist to address certain needs. Matching Funds allow lodges to assist individuals and families with pressing needs, offer support to public schools and community programs, and provide general community support for fire departments and public safety.
