1 CENTRAL WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ASSOCIATION Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin March 5, 2014 Dear CWMA Members and Interested Parties: The State of Missouri, Department of Agriculture, Weights, Measures & Consumer Protection Division, is proud to host the 29th Annual CWMA Conference which will take place May 19-22, 2014, in St. Louis, Missouri. We have several items of great importance including CNG and LNG as motor fuel, quality standards for motor oil and diesel exhaust fluid, new technology for railway track scales, and many other items. We need your presence to assist in the direction, development and ultimate passage for this July s NCWM Annual meeting. There will be several informative presentations of selected topics including Pump Tampering Using Altered Pulsers, and NIST will conclude the event with training on Evaluating Performance, Learning Objectives and Training Effectiveness for Managers. See attachment. This year s conference will be held at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel. A special room rate has been arranged for the conference at $104 per night plus 16.94% tax. Hotel information: St. Louis Union Station Hotel - DoubleTree by Hilton 1820 Market Street St. Louis, Missouri Online Reservations Reservation Deadline: April 19, To reserve a room you may call the number above or follow the online reservations link. Mention that you are with the Central Weights & Measures Association or use the group code CWM in order to receive the special group rate. If you are not sure you will be able to attend at this time, make a room reservation now; it is much easier to cancel it, rather than try to reserve a room after the deadline. Registration Deadline: To assist in planning, please return your registration form to Sherry Turvey (see address on the registration form) by May 9, The registration fee is $ This fee includes your $25.00 annual membership dues, the Chairman s Reception, continental breakfast every morning and the dinner planned for Wednesday. You are welcome to bring a guest to these events as well. Additional charges for guests, where applicable, are shown on the registration form. ATTENTION! The NCWM has launched its registration and pay on-line for its regional associations. You may send your registration by mail or and pay at the conference if that is more convenient for you. We will only accept cash or check at the conference. Airport and Travel: Lambert St. Louis International Airport (STL). The Metrolink runs from the airport to Union Station and cost about $2. Retired Members: A new policy was adopted at the 2011 Interim Meeting which allows for retired members to attend the meeting at a reduced cost. Retired members are not required to pay the registration fee, but are required to pay for any events that take place during the meeting, for example, the Chairman s reception and Wednesday evening s dinner. Name Badge Holders: If you have received a CWMA name badge holder at a previous meeting, please bring it with you and a name card will be ready for you to slip into the holder.
