Financial Aid Checklist Regular Admissions Candidates: January 1 Application deadline February 1 Mail the completed Profile to assure full consideration for aid. February 1 Mail FAFSA. March 1 Mail applicable supplemental forms. March 15 Mail signed copies of prior year federal tax returns along with schedules and W-2s for student and parent(s). Early Decision Candidates: Submit completed Profile and supplemental forms as early as November 1 but no later than two weeks after filing admissions application. Prior year tax returns and W-2s are required for initial determination of need. February 15 Early Decision date Follow other steps as above. January Transfer Students: November 1 Submit FAFSA, profile, copies of prior year federal tax returns, schedules, and W-2s for student and parent(s), and applicable supplemental forms. 2 HOW TO GET TO NORTHAMPTON COUNTRY CLUB From Lafayette College, take Route 22 West to the 25th Street exit.take a left onto 248 South and then make a right onto William Penn Highway. Northampton Country Club is approximately 3.5 miles down William Penn Highway on the right. The country club entrance is marked by stone pillars. From Route 33, take Route 22 East to the 25th Street exit. From there, follow directions above. Facilities Allan P. Kirby Sports Center Dedicated on June 2, 2000, the $35 million Allan P. Kirby Sports Center gives Lafayette the finest athletic complex of any college of its size in the country. It includes a new, 110,000-square-foot intramural and recreational sports facility attached to the previously existing Kirby Field House. The field house itself received a $2.5 million facelift and interior renovations. The new portion of the center, featuring a distinctive atrium overlooking Fisher Field, includes the Kamine Gymnasium, which includes three 50-by-84-foot courts for basketball and other sports and an elevated 1 /10-mile jogging track.the Buck Courts include six courts for racquet sports, two for squash and four that can be configured for squash or racquetball. A 6,600- square-foot fitness center and weight room includes a full strength-training circuit, spacious free-weight area, and more than 30 cardiovascular machines.there is also a 35-foot climbing wall, an aerobics area and several offices. Built in 1973, the original field house, which contains Ruef Natatorium, is home to several varsity sports teams. It has been enhanced to include a new sports medicine area and a new equipment room and renovated locker rooms and administrative offices. The lobby and Athletic Hall of Fame exhibitry have been completely modernized. Major support for the sports center was provided by the F.M. Kirby Foundation, which made a $32.5 million gift to Lafayette, the largest gift ever received by a college, university or other non-profit organization in the Lehigh Valley.The $32.5 million contribution, which Lafayette has received in full, includes $26.25 million for the sports complex and an additional $6.25 million in support of other objectives in the Lafayette Leadership Campaign.The total cost of the Allan P. Kirby Sports Center is $35 million.this includes $26.5 million in construction and renovation costs and $8.5 million in endowment for operation and maintenance of the facility. Approximately 75 percent of Lafayette students participate in varsity, junior varsity, club, intramural or other recreational sports. The intramural program includes 2 LAFAYETTE ATHLETICS some three dozen sports.there are 15 club sports. The Kirby Foundation is the family foundation of the Fred Morgan Kirby family, which has been prominent in the life of Lafayette for nearly a century. Seven family members are alumni, four have served as trustees and three received honorary doctorates from Lafayette. Northampton Country Club The Lafayette College golf team practices and plays all of its home matches at Northampton Country Club (NCC), located in Palmer Township, Pa. A challenging 6,542-yard course, Northampton Country Club was chartered in 1899, and holds the distinction of being one of the oldest private country clubs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Spanning 190 acres, the fairways are comprised of rye grass, while the challenging greens are a composite bent grass. The site of several local section championships and tournament qualifiers, Northampton Country Club has been the home of the Lafayette golf team since Included for player convenience is a spacious club house with modernized locker rooms, showers, club storage and repair. Northampton Country Club also features a first-class pro shop, stocked with the finest golf apparel and equipment. Practice facilities include a driving range, a short range and putting greens.

3 Coaching Staff Jim Hutnik 78 Head Coach Jim Hutnik, a 1978 graduate of Lafayette College, enters his fourth season as Lafayette s head golf coach. Hutnik recently took over the reins of the Easton High School varisty basketball team, leaving Bethlehem Catholic where he coached for nine seasons. In his nine years at Bethlehem Catholic, Hutnik has guided the golf team to two East Penn League Championships, while earning Coach of the Year honors in Bethlehem Catholic finished the 2001 season with a 16-3 record. As head coach of the basketball team, Hutnik has compiled a career record of including nine consecutive winning seasons. He led his team to five appearances in the district championship, winning the title twice. Hutnik was voted Coach of the Year four times and was nominated for Pennsylvania s Coach of the Year in Prior to his stint at Bethlehem Catholic, Hutnik coached the Allentown College men s basketball squad, where he tallied an career mark over six seasons. He coached the team to its first Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and its first 20-win season. He is the only coach to have a career winning record in the program s history. While at Allentown, Hutnik also served as head golf coach, assistant baseball coach and athletic recruiting coordinator. Hutnik spent six years as an assistant basketball coach at the University of Maine ( ) following one season at Brandeis University where he was an assistant coach of the baseball and men s basketball teams. He also spent two years as the junior varsity basketball coach at Lafayette from Hutnik received his bachelor of arts degree in history from Lafayette in 1978 and was a member of the Leopards golf team. He currently teaches American Government and U.S. and World History at Bethlehem Catholic High School. A native of Easton, Pa., Hutnik is the sixth coach in the history of the Lafayette golf program. 4 Season Outlook A number of seasoned upperclassmen coupled with the emergence of young talent will drive the Lafayette men s golf team this spring. Lafayette returns six letterwinners and welcomes seven newcomers to this year s club, which is under the guidance of head coach Jim Hutnik for the fourth season. Topping the key returners for Lafayette is sophomore Brandon Mitchel (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), who enjoyed a solid rookie season with the third-best stroke average on the Leopards roster. Behind graduates Jeremiah O Neill and Garett Copp, Mitchel averaged 79.6, and posted a season-best 75 in the final day of the Navy Spring Invitational (4/17). As the only senior on the 2006 squad, Hutnik will depend on Tom Palmer (Mahwah, N.J.) to provide leadership both on and off the course. Palmer has provided consistency over four years for Lafayette, and finished last year averaging 81.8 a round. He also contributed a solid fall season, appearing in the teams top two in seven of 11 rounds played. Also providing upperclassman leadership will be juniors Billy Simmermacher (Scarsdale, N.Y.), Dave Rahal (Mahwah, N.J.) and Kyle Manjuck (Durham, Conn.). All three had quality showings in the fall and will be aiming for increased improvement. Simmermacher saw the most action in the fall, averaging an 82.6 over seven rounds. Roster Name Yr. Johnston topped the Leopards with team-best rounds twice during the fall. Other newcomers under Hutnik include senior Brad Godette (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and freshmen Bobby Ayala (Kendall Park, N.J), Pat Gallagher (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Steven Melnic (Allentown, Pa.), Anoop Shah (Calabasas, Calif.) and Kenneth Suarez (Springfield, N.J.). Shah averaged a team-best 77.7 in the fall, including earning top honors for the Leopards in both the Cornell Invitational and Mount St. Mary s Fall Invitational. Suarez also eclocked significant time in the fall, seeing action in two invitationals and a pair of quad matches and averaging The Leopards schedule mirrors that of last season, as the spring opens with the team competing in the Lonnie Barton Memorial Invitational the weekend of March 17 at Pinecrest Country Club in Bluffton, S.C. The Leopards follow that road trip up with the team s home tournament on April 7-9. Easton s Center Valley Country Club will again host the Lafayette Invitational. The next weekend, the Leopards hit the road again to try their luck at the Navy Spring Invitational held at the Naval Academy Country Club. Two days later, the Leopards will have the home course advantage, as the team competes in the Lehigh Valley Quad Match set to be held at Northampton Country Club. The quad match will be the final tune-up before the Leopards head into the Patriot League Championship weekend, April Navy will host the 2006 tournament, as the Leopards will play the Academy s course for the second time in less than two weeks. For the second straight year, the league championship will not mark the end of the season for Lafayette. Rather, the team is slated to compete in the St. Peter s Peacock Invitational in Neshanic Station, N.J. and second quad match at Deal Country Club spanning the weekend of April LAFAYETTE ATHLETICS
