Youmans, a Biology major at Central Connecticut State University, has attained a 3.74 grade point average, and is vice president of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society for , president of the Pre-Health Professions Club and a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, as has served as a staff sergeant in the Rhode Island Air National Guard and was named Airman of the Year in 1994, and served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm was awarded two Air Force achievement medals, and is concurrently pursing an Associate's degree in Aircraft Maintenance Systems Technology through the Community College of the Air Force, and volunteers as a nurse/patient liaison at New Britain General Hospital's emergency room, and has been employed by Bristol-Meyers Squibb since June 1996, and Erik L. Fuentes, an International Business major and Finance minor at Central Connecticut State University, has attained a grade point average of 3.90 and is a Dean's List student, a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society since 1994, and a recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige Scholarship Award, the Excellence in Finance Award, and a Continuing Education Scholarship Grant, and has completed internships at both Pratt & Whitney and at Financial Services Plan, LLC in Rocky Hill, and has also been an active member of his community for many years serving on the Boards of Directors of both the Little League and Chamber of Commerce, and as a fundraising volunteer for CPTV and the March of Dimes, and is a native of Aquirre, Puerto Rico, the father of three children, and is currently employed at Pratt & Whitney as a Materials Specialist, and William A. Belair, a History/Social Science and Elementary Education major at Eastern Connecticut State University, has attained a grade point average of 3.93, and is a former Girl Scout Leader and an active volunteer in the Willington public schools since 1984, and has chaired the Willington PTA's Teacher Appreciation Committee and served on the Superintendent's Advisory Committee and from 1993 to 1996, and worked as a paraprofessional in the Willington public school system, and prior to that time, was employed for several years as a registered electro-neurodiagnostic technologist at Hartford Hospital, and has been a member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) since 1994, and is a member of the Willington Community Chorus, and is currently a substitute teacher in the Mansfield and Willington schools, and is the mother of two daughters aged 15 and 19, and Janis L. 6 dil JEFFREY HOLT Jeffrey Holt, a Biology major and Chemistry minor at Eastern Connecticut State University, has attained a grade point average of 3.77, and recipient of the ECSU Academic Excellence Scholarship, Mariam Silcox Scholarship, and a winner of a ECSU Biology Department High Academic Achievement Award in 1995 and 1996, and is a member of the ECSU Biology Honors Program, has performed an independent research project under Dr. Mike Adams studying the role of heat shock proteins which led to presentations at the 1996 Eastern Colleges Scientific Conference in Williamsport, PA and the Northeast Algal Symposium held at the Marine Biology Laboratories in Woods Hole, MA and who worked as a summer volunteer in a bone biology laboratory at the Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT, and was awarded a National Science Foundation Developmental Neurobiology Fellowship at the University of Michigan in 1996 where he studied the process of retinal regeneration, and is a member of ECSU's Biology, Scuba, Tennis and Honors clubs while also working in the ECSU Biology department in a number of capacities including teaching assistanceships, tutoring, and as a student worker, and Jeffrey Holt has been selected by the Foundation to receive its Distinguished Student Award, therefore, be it That the Board of Trustees for recommends Mr. Holt for his academic and service the Distinguished Student Award, happy and successful Central Connecticut State University I Eastern Connecticut State University CSU System Office: 39 Woodland Street, Hartford, State University

9 B$QI DAVID BELTON TAYLOR David Belton Taylor, a Environmental Public Health major at Southern Connecticut State University, has attained a grade point average of 3.79, and while diagnosed in adulthood with dyslexia, has achieved his academic goals despite a fifth-grade reading ability, and was selected to present his Senior Project and Thesis at the 1996 Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Public Health Association, and is a member of Zeta Delta Epsilon, SCSU's honors service society, and has assisted in various fundraising efforts and solicited Red Cross blood donors with record-setting success, and has devoted much time tutoring his classmates, and has been a member of the SCSU Veterans' Association for the past four years and previously participated in the "Connecticut Round-up" for homeless veterans, and while being the primary caregiver for his three year old daughter, will graduate with departmental honors in May, and David Belton Taylor has been selected by the That the Board of Trustees for the recommends Mr. Taylor for his academic and service achievements, congratulates him the Distinguished Student Award, and Central Connecticut State University I Eastern Connecticut State University I Southern Western Connecticut State 1 Jniversity

Johnson, a Marketing major at Western Connecticut State University, has attained a grade point average of 3.77, and has completed four career internships including one with the Shelton-based General Electric Supply Company during which she conducted a benchmarking study on merchandising techniques and was subsequently named GE's "Intern of the Year," and received a Student Leadership Award for the academic year and is listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 1996, and is currently president of the WCSU Marketing Club, participating in various volunteer efforts including fundraising for the Good Friends, Good Neighbors Organization, and was one of two student representatives appointed to the Marketing Advisory Board for the Ancell School of Business, and was awarded the Marketing Department Award for scholastic excellence, and helped develop a promotional video to raise funds and community support for that school, and prior to attaining her Bachelor's degree, she secured a full time position as Account Executive for Northeast Utilities, and Catherine A.
