Deadline to apply: January 31 st Hendricks County Community Foundation Deadline to apply: February 18 th Savannah College of Art and Design Distinguished Scholars Award Deadline to apply: February 15th 2014 Hendricks County Community Foundation (HCCF) Scholarships. Schoen Memorial Scholarship Application (For Two-Year and Vocational Program Studies) now available in the ALC Guidance Office. The scholarship is open to students planning to attend a two-year (Associates Degree) program or vocational-technical training. Applicants need to be a resident of Washington Township and have a C average. One scholarship is awarded for $2,000 per year. National English Honor Society OFFICERS -- we will have a meeting TODAY in Ms. Brummett's room after school. The Poetry Creative Writing Club will meet Wednesday, January 22 after school in room B216. There will be no meeting today. There will be a combined meeting of South Asia Club and Historical Fashion Society on Wednesday Jan. 22 in RM D209 until 4 pm. All members of both clubs should attend to learn about South Asian Fashion and to model some cool clothes!
4 Welcome back, Peer Pals. Next Thursday, January 23, will be our annual Movie Night! All members are invited to meet in D110 from 3-5 pm. The club will provide drinks and snacks. Parents may pick up students at AHS front doors at 5pm. French Club invites anyone and everyone to join them this Friday afternoon at 3:00 to make and eat crepes. Make sure you sign up by Wednesday in room D204 to make sure there's enough to go around! Attention Juniors and eager Sophomores! Mrs. Leahy and Miss Cable are offering an Avon Oriole SAT Prep workshop beginning February 3rd. You will gain valuable test taking strategies for the SAT as well as review essential math, science, reading, and writing skills. Pick up an application from Mrs. Leahy, Miss Cable,or from the guidance office today. Space is limited to the first 30 applicants! Any girls out there looking for a new sport to try this spring? The Avon Girls Rugby Team will be holding a call out meeting Tuesday January 21st at 6pm at Avon Middle School South Media center. No experience needed to try the great sport of rugby! The call out meeting is a great chance to meet the coaches and players and learn more about the game. See you then! The wrestling team won the Hoosier Crossroads Conference tournament in dominating fashion on Saturday. All 14 wrestlers placed in the top 6. The team was led by individual championships from Marcus Miranda, Brendon Helm, Gunnar Larson, and Guy Henson. The team returns to action Wednesday night at home for senior night against South Putnam. The Avon Girls Rugby team callout meeting is TODAY at Avon Middle School South Media Center. Please enter through the front doors. No experience needed to try the amazing sport of rugby. Returning players continue to recruit, Coach Weinstein and Coach Frey can't wait for the season to begin.
